The Block Australia 2022’s Tom Calleja and Sarah-Jane Wilson are two of the most outspoken contestants ever to grace our screens, so it’s no surprise that they revealed they were a “casual fling” before they got together.
The couple, who share a one-year-old daughter, Cleo, have been together for seven years and have been married for four, after meeting at Sarah-Jane’s sister’s wedding.
“We were a casual fling that spiralled into getting married and having a kid and now ending up on The Block,” Tom told 9Now. Lol!
Tom and Sarah-Jane own a house in Gladstone Park, Melbourne and also own a caravan at Lake Eildon in regional Victoria.
They haven’t renovated many houses, but what they lack in experience, they make up for in sheer determination.

Tom is a successful plumber with his own business who loves a bit of hard work.
“I could work 24 hours a day, I love it,” he told 9Now. “So that part of The Block is not going to bother me, I’m going to relish it.”
Sarah-Jane, on the other hand, is a social worker.
“I used to work as a carer, then I went on to study further to do more of an advocacy kind of role. Now I do case management with people over the age of 65 who are in vulnerable situations, and I love it.”
While she has an absolute heart of gold, people would describe her as being “loud and outspoken”.
“People always say that I’m so loud,” she said. “Yes, I’m a lot, and some people don’t like it, but I’m harmless. I just like to have a laugh and a good time.”
