The Block Australia 2022’s final trailer all but confirms what real estate savvy fans have feared – some of the multi-million dollar houses may not sell on auction day.

And TBH, if this happens, all the BTS drama, trolling, cast group messages, budget woes and b*llshit we’ve had to endure this season will be a complete waste of time!

The “cooling” market and ambitious AF house prices could prove too risky for prospective buyers or investors, based on telling footage from the finale’s trailer, released on November 1.

While many of the clips used were from previous seasons (duh, the auction hasn’t actually happened yet), there are several sneak peeks at the unexpected trouble brewing in pre-filmed segments.

Surprisingly, it was House Two’s Rachel and Ryan Carr who could be seen discussing whether they might go home without any profits.

“These houses might not sell, so the whole unknown is actually quite scary,” Ryan said.

However, he’s not necessarily talking about their property.

Sharon Johal and Ankur Dogra have already been warned they might not pocket anything from their sale (if they make one, that is) – despite having “the biggest house on The Block – due to their huge debt.

Like, come on, even their realtor doesn’t sound hopeful.

The Block 2021′s Kristy Lee Akers Echoes Concerns About the Unpredictable Marketplace

It comes after former Blockhead Kristy Lee Akers shared her concern that 2022 homes will not sell at auction.

Kristy – who appeared in the 2021 season with husband Jesse Anderson – profited big time from her turn on the show (raking in a cool $301,523).

In an interview with Woman’s Day, the former reality star said she had a “really bad feeling” about this year’s auction.

“Interest rates have shot up, and the market has cooled, plus everyone is saying these homes will sell for $5 million, but some of the better homes recently sold in that area [the Macedon Ranges in Victoria] only made about $2 million,” she said.

“That’s a huge price difference.”

While we’ve typically seen all houses sell during the series finales, the New Zealand iteration has seen houses fail in the past, which Kristy believes is a sign that they’re not guaranteed to sell.

“I hope I eat my words, but I’m really worried for them all,” Kirsty told the outlet.

Back in early September, The Block Australia 2022 house guide was released, with the five houses setting a record for the Gisborne region.

Sitting between $4 million and $4.4 million, the renovated homes are four times the value of the average home in the area, with a median house price of $1.1 million.
