A new behind-the-scenes Logie Awards snap has proven that Married at First Sight Australia producers show favouritism when it comes to the cast.

Only seven of this year’s Married at First Sight contestants were offered a seat at the inaugural award show. However, on-screen villains like Tamara Djordejvic and Olivia Frazer missed out.

Despite the exclusivity of the event, it was a single MAFS group photo that got the certain former participants’ knickers in a twist.

Australia’s “most powerful” producer, Tara McWilliams, could be seen smiling alongside relationship expert John Aiken in an Instagram photo.

Next to them were the season’s breakout stars Ella Ding, Domenica Calarco, Al Perkins and Brent Vitiello.

Season five participant and notorious pot-stirrer Nasser Sultan claimed the photo was “the true definition of favouritism”.

“With the producer from MAFS and John at the Logies. From zero to heroes. Editing is a wonderful thing [sic[,” Nasser wrote on his Instagram Story. You know the show’s already been aired, right Nass?

Should the Entire Cast of a Nominated TV Show Be Invited to the Logie Awards?

Nasser took to Instagram to rant about the Logie Awards, claiming he was horrified to see certain attendees showing “too much cleavage” or men wearing pants above the ankle and showing their socks. The scandal!

In the last three videos, Nasser finally explained his “only gripe” about how the event worked.

“I believe… if a show is nominated, invite the whole cast,” he said.

“Everyone who has put in their time for months and months of filming and carrying on, to actually enjoy the moment, because they did just as much work as everyone one [sic].

“Why only have a select few to turn up and enjoy the moment and take the photos and carry on? Invite the whole cast. You know it bloody makes sense.”

Nasser went on to add he would rather see the whole lot enjoy the moment because it wasn’t fair on those who didn’t get an invite.

“To me it’s not fair,” he said. “It sort of says ‘these guys are my favourites and we don’t give a sh*t about the rest of you,” he claimed.

The MAFS Cast Were Not Allowed Into the Main Room

According to Domenica — who was interviewed by Abbie Chatfield on her Hot Nights with Abbie Chatfield radio show — the invited participants were only allowed into the main auditorium for their nominated category. So much for favouritism!

After they arrived, she claimed they were “accosted” and sent to a private Channel Nine viewing room.

When the nominated category was about to be announced, they were ushered into the “big room”, which made Domenica believe they may have won.

However, in the end, it went to another Channel Nine show, Travel Guides.

“They all said to us, ‘come on guys, we’ve got to go in, we’re going into the main room now’ and they had a table for us with our names on it.

“But then we couldn’t stay there,” she said.
