FBoy Island host Abbie Chatfield has revealed she’s contemplated pivoting into politics when she wraps up her reality TV career.
Following her iconic breakout appearance on The Bachelor Australia 2019, Abbie rose to prominence during the COVID-19 lockdowns for her staunch political opinions.
She’s since continued to platform her views on her social media on everything from the global pandemic to abortion rights to the current US elections and standing up against misogyny.

As it turns out, Abbie isn’t totally shying away from the idea of becoming a politician herself!
In an interview with Good Weekend ahead of FBOY Island Australia 2024‘s August 5 premiere, the 28-year-old was asked whether she’d “run for office”.
“Actually, recently, I was like, ‘Maybe I should go into politics‘,” she confessed. “But I’m tired.
“Maybe if FBOY Island Season Three doesn’t happen.”
Abbie Chatfield reveals where her political views and values stem from
In her chat with Good Weekend, Abbie confessed her values stem from being raised by a single mother.
“I grew up with a single mother, no men in the house, so I never had these problematic, patriarchal ideals instilled in me,” she confessed.
“My mum’s a really intelligent, vocal, progressive woman. Growing up with her, we’d watch the news, and she’d go, ‘What a bloody dickhead’ or, ‘Isn’t it awful the way these women are being treated?’
“There was a constant conversation. It helped me refine my debating skills.”

Abbie also said that despite Australia’s poor handling of politics in recent history, she’s cheering on activists on social media.
“There are also so many amazing activists and so much education on social media coming from people like [writer and transgender rights activist] Nevo Zisin, Grace Tame and Chanel Contos,” the TV host said.
“People are having progressive conversations that are really important. We’ve got a lot of work to do, but there’s optimism and hope.”
And she’s got our vote!
It comes after Abbie recently shared her plans to finish writing her book titled ‘So Let’s Unpack That’ (which abbreviates to SLUT).
