Abbie Chatfield has revealed which of her many jobs pays the most money, and BRB, changing professions ASAP!
Abbie, who has appeared on a litany of reality TV shows from her breakout stint on The Bachelor 2019 to hosting FBOY Island Australia, has never shied away from chatting about the dosh she earns as a media personality.
Most recently, she took to TikTok to confess that while being a TV host is quite frankly *iconic*, she’d likely make more money being a full-time social media influencer.

Noting that her FBOY Island gig is her “favourite job”, making a foray onto TV from social media is something you’d have to be passionate about.
“If you’re coming from social media, you have a decent following, and you earn decent money on socials, you have to want to do TV,” she explained.
“My favourite job is FBOY Island. My second favourite would be live touring, and my third favourite would be the podcast [It’s A Lot] in terms of fulfilment. I love doing all those jobs so much. If I lost any of them, I’d be so upset.”
However, she went on to note that there’s a significant discrepancy in pay between her gigs.
“The money you get offered to do a gig like that, if you compare it to the time and energy that it would take to get the same amount of money on social media, it’s like, it’s not really worth it,” Abbie said.
Abbie Chatfield says she turned down a regular TV gig due to pay
In the clip, Abbie clarified that she wasn’t exactly getting paid jack-sh*t to do FBOY Island.
However, now that she knows how much she could potentially earn as an influencer, it’s made her more picky about the TV roles she takes on.
The 28-year-old explained that she once got offered to be a regular on a TV show each week. But while it was an incredible opportunity, it wasn’t worth the workload. Plus, she wasn’t super passionate about the show.
“If I didn’t know how much I could earn on socials like that, the amount of money they offered me for a year would’ve been one post a month for me,” Abbie dished.
“The time and energy commitment for a project I wasn’t that committed to… I wasn’t excited about this TV show that much. I liked it as an audience member but didn’t want to be part of it every week. It was a huge amount of effort.”
Abbie’s salary chat comes after an FBOY Island 2023 star called her out for discussing the “gender pay gap” when he got paid peanuts compared to the show’s leading ladies.
