In a shock announcement, The Bachelor Australia alum Abbie Chatfield has revealed that she’s changing her name.

During her appearance on the Fair Enough podcast, the TV and radio host spilled that she’s ditching her last name and adopting her mother’s maiden name.

Despite this, the 27-year-old confirmed that she’s keeping ‘Chatfield’ for professional purposes. And this makes sense because her name has become quite iconic in the influencer and TV world.

“I’m actually changing my last name to my mum’s maiden name,” she dished to co-hosts Lachlan and Jaxon Fairbairn.

“But I’m not going to tell anyone what it is.”

The influencer said she couldn’t change her professional name because she feared fans would find her mother’s maiden name too hard to pronounce.

“My mum’s maiden name is… It isn’t hard to pronounce, but it’s not easy upon looking at it, so ‘Chatfield’ is much easier,” she shared.

“Marketing, guys! You can’t get rid of your stage name!”

After a quick Google search, we discovered that Abbie’s mother’s name is Laura Junner, making Abbie’s new *legal* name Abbie Junner.

Not too hard to pronounce if you ask us!

Abbie Chatfield speaks out about her relationship with her father

Since stepping into the public eye, Abbie has always been vocal about her father’s absence in her life.

In 2021, she shared a photo on Instagram of herself with her arm around an invisible person.

“Annual Father’s Day post to appreciate this guy! Love these pics of dad and me,” she jokingly captioned the image.

The previous year, she posted a photo of herself sitting alone in her car, alongside the caption: “Love this photo of me and my dad!”

“Happy Father’s Day! Thanks for being the reason I have to pay $230 a week to go to therapy to fix my abandonment issues!” she added.

During an interview with WHO magazine in May 2020, Abbie mentioned that fans “try to get to [her]” by commenting about her father’s thoughts on her The Bachelor appearance in 2019.

Trolls try to get to me by saying things like, ‘What would your father think?’

“I’m like, ‘Umm my father left when I was born, so, not sure. But my uncle is pretty stoked about it all. He’s so proud of me,'” she shared.
