Married at First Sight Australia 2023‘s Jesse Burford has responded to the Logies drama that’s been brewing between Claire Nomarhas and Melinda Willis.

ICYMI: At the TV Week Logies Awards on July 30, Claire told Punkee that she was getting “weird vibes” from Melinda, who later shared a clip from the interview and called Claire out for “bullying” on Instagram.

Now, Jesse has entered the chat, responding to a fan who claimed that Claire tried to “manipulate a narrative around Melinda” to “publicly shame her”.

“This pretty much sums up my entire time on MAFS,” the marriage celebrant wrote to his Instagram Story on August 2.

“An absolute manipulative, gaslighting and terrible experience. By cast AND production.

“No edit to save people now,” he finished, tagging #keepdigging. Ouch.

We’re hardly surprised by Jesse’s response because Claire cheated on him during the marriage experiment, then gaslit him for weeks before coming clean. So it’s pretty obvious whose side he’s going to be on…

What actually went down between Claire Nomarhas and Melinda Willis at the Logies?

In episode 307 of the So Dramatic! podcast, one MAFS contestant told host Megan Pustetto that Melinda arrived an hour late to the Logies and didn’t make eye contact with any of her co-stars.

She then arrived late to dinner and “sat at the head of the table”, but she “left before mains”.

When contacted for comment, Melinda provided a statement to So Dramatic! denying the allegations.

“We were late because Layton [Mills] left his bow tie at home and we were trying to Uber one to him but the girl couldn’t find the place and during it all he dropped food on my dress.

“I missed getting my photos or calling my stylist to complete the look because I was trying to help him with his outfit and so was my makeup artist.”

Melinda added that the event had allocated seats during meals, so she “didn’t choose to sit at the head of the table”.

As for why she left the Logies in a hurry, Melinda said she “had a sore back and couldn’t sit for long so left to go to the room and lie down”. However, she fell asleep before she could return.

MAFS is over, this wasn’t a dinner party to be children at, it was the Logies,” she remarked. And she’s not wrong!
