Married at First Sight Australia 2023‘s Melinda Willis has revealed that she’s “staying strong” despite having beef with her co-star Claire Nomarhas.

ICYMI: At the TV Week Logies Awards on July 30, Claire told Punkee that she was getting “weird vibes” from Melinda, who later shared a clip from the interview and called Claire out for “bull[ying]” on Instagram.

Then, Melinda posted an emotional Instagram Story sharing her feelings about the situation on August 1.

“Dried my eyes and put my big girl clothes on today,” the beauty CEO started. “Shutting out the noise and lies spreading through the media. Showing up today for the people in my life who need me and deserve me.

“Staying strong for young Mel, who wasn’t always this confident and self assure[d]. Staying strong for all the young girls who follow me and need someone to look up to,” she wrote.

The 32-year-old finished her post with the hashtags #antibullying #womenempowerment and #selflove.

Later that day, the reality star posted a second story thanking fans for all of their support, stating that she’d received 4,157 messages from her followers.

“I’m so blessed and lucky to have such an army of support and genuine heartfelt care from you all,” she said.

Melinda then thanked everyone for “taking the time” to check on her.

“I’m truly grateful and I love you all so much,” she finished.

Married at First Sight‘s Melinda Willis responds to backlash over behaviour at the 2023 Logies

In episode 307 of the So Dramatic! podcast, key witnesses to the MAFS Logies drama have weighed in on what actually went down.

One participant told host Megan Pustetto that Melinda arrived an hour late to the event and didn’t make eye contact with any of her co-stars. She then arrived late to dinner and “sat at the head of the table”, but she “left before mains”.

When contacted for comment over the allegations from the Logies, Melinda provided a statement to So Dramatic!.

“We were late because Layton left his bow tie at home and we were trying to Uber one to him but the girl couldn’t find the place and during it all he dropped food on my dress.

“I missed getting my photos or calling my stylist to complete the look because I was trying to help him with his outfit and so was my makeup artist.”

Melinda added that the event had allocated seats during meals, so she “didn’t choose to sit at the head of the table”.

As for why she left the Logies in a hurry, Melinda said she “had a sore back and couldn’t sit for long so left to go to the room and lie down”. However, she fell asleep before she could return.

MAFS is over, this wasn’t a dinner party to be children at, it was the Logies,” she remarked. Yikes.
