It wouldn’t be Married at First Sight Australia without a cheating scandal, and in 2023 it involves an unlikely pair: Claire Nomarhas and Adam Seed.
Their respective marriages to Jesse Burford and Janelle Han had rocky beginnings, so it’s no wonder they attempted to find comfort elsewhere.
It’s also no surprise that Adam is the groom in question, given he admitted to cheating on his literal fiancée IRL.
Now, as reported in episode 253 of the So Dramatic! podcast, a pash “is exchanged between Claire and Adam early on in the piece”.
“They have a little snog behind their partners’ backs during a night out,” one insider explained.
“A bunch of contestants went out drinking together at a pub and Claire and Adam went off to have a vape together and that’s when it happened.”
While Jesse “immediately suspects something happened”, the sneaky duo “deny it”.
“Jesse is made to look like he’s crazy until it all comes out eventually.”

Another contestant shed further light on the cheating scandal, telling host Megan Pustetto that “no one thought anything” of Claire and Adam’s “flirty” advances “until they snuck off together for a vape”.
“They didn’t come back and no one knew where they were. They just disappeared,” they recalled. “Everyone went back to Sky Suites.
“Jesse was in his room alone and Claire eventually came home and she was on the phone. She had it on loudspeaker because she thought Jesse would still be out at the pub.”
However, when Jesse suspected he heard Adam’s voice “on the other line”, he “jumps up and confronts Claire”.
“She freaks out and hangs up,” the source said. “Jesse and Claire have a huge screaming match, then Jesse storms up to Adam’s room, bursts in, and starts abusing him.
“Jesse was yelling, ‘Who were you on the phone with’, over and over.”
He reportedly asked Adam to show him his phone before telling Janelle “she was married to a snake”.
According to the participant, “Adam was trying to diffuse the situation” and continued to “deny everything”.
“Producers eventually got involved and took Jesse away and made him sleep in another room.”

The source then revealed that “sh*t hit the fan” the following day.
“Jesse and Claire had a meeting about it during which Claire told Jesse his behaviour was unacceptable and gaslit him,” the insider admitted.
Meanwhile, “Adam laughed it off, denied it, and made Jesse look crazy”.
Still not convinced that something didn’t happen between his wife and Adam, Jesse “doesn’t let it go”.
“Adam and Claire denied it for weeks,” a participant recalled. “Eventually, it comes out that they did kiss after they lied and made Jesse look crazy.
“They gaslighted the crap out of him and everyone turned on Jesse because of it… which made the whole thing so much worse.”
Apparently, the truth only comes out because “Lyndall [Grace] was out that night and witnessed the kiss”.
Due to their treatment of Jesse, “people felt so bad for thinking he was crazy” with “some people even apologising to him”.
We never thought we’d say this, but we actually feel for Jesse — even after that whole “ick” drama on his honeymoon…
