The Block for another season in 2023, but who has been tasked with judging this year’s rooms?
According to Yahoo! Lifestyle, this season will bring drama like we’ve never seen it before, with LOTS of inter-team conflicts and emotional turmoil.
But that’s not the only shake-up.
Channel Nine has also announced that for the first time in ten years, a new face has joined the judging panel. But who will it be?
Keep scrolling to meet the judges for The Block 2023!
Marty Fox
Joining the long-time judges is the CEO of WHITEFOX Real Estate, Marty Fox.
The father-of-three describes himself as a “serial property flipper” and a “respected figure of success”. So it’s safe to say that he’s very influential in the property world.
Eagle-eyed fans of the show might recognise the new judge because he auctioned Harry and Tash Pavlou‘s home in the 2020 season and Ryan and Rachel Carr‘s house in 2022.
Neale Whitaker
Self-proclaimed interior design expert Neale Whitaker will also be returning for The Block‘s 19th season.
The 61-year-old has worked in publishing in both Australia and the UK and according to his personal website, he’s written and edited for the likes of ABC Food Magazine, Vogue Entertaining and Travel and The Sydney Morning Herald.
He’s even written his own book, The Accidental Foodie, so it’s clear he has a way with words.
Whilst the TV personality is usually front and centre on The Block, he’ll be taking a step back this year.
“My partner of 20 years, David, experienced some serious health issues earlier this year and my priority has been to spend more time at home,” Neale wrote to Instagram, explaining that Marty will be sharing his hosting duties.
Shaynna Blaze
Interior designer and overall boss babe Shaynna Blaze will also be returning to The Block 2023.
The 60-year-old is the founder of Blank Canvas Interiors.
According to her website, she’s also helped design products for Harris Scarfe, Urban Road and One World Lighting, to name a few.
She’s also penned two interior design books and she’s a regular columnist for The Herald Sun, Stellar Magazine and Grand Designs Magazine, so you KNOW she knows what she’s talking about.
Darren Palmer
Last but definitely not least, Darren Palmer will be back to put the Blockheads through their paces this season.
The 45-year-old is one of Australia’s most renowned interior designers. In 2006, he founded DP Designed, within which he creates “bespoke, luxurious and precise interiors” for his clients.
He’s also a writer and a speaker with a passion for imparting his knowledge to design enthusiasts.
Sounds like the contestants are in very good hands!
