The Block’s Shaynna Blaze hinted she felt blindsided by her 2018 divorce from her husband, personal trainer Steven Vaughn, after 18 years of marriage.

During an appearance on Country Home Rescue, the 59-year-old, who was undergoing a family renovation with children Carly and Jess, said that her “security” suddenly disappeared.

“We sold our family home, my marriage broke down and all those things that give you security suddenly vanished,” she said.

Shaynna’s son said the split was “quite shocking to our family”.

“It was hard, it was hard to see mum go through those really difficult times, and they were, she had some really tough times.”

In 2018, both Jess and Carly bought a 130-year-old dilapidated house in regional Victoria to use as the set for a low-budget horror film they were making.

According to the siblings, they had their own plans to flip the home; however, Shaynna wanted to turn it into a proper family dwelling.

“I really need them to understand this is important to us as a family,” the interior designer said.

The Block’s Shaynna Blaze Announced Her Divorce Via Instagram

In August 2018, the Celebrity Apprentice star took to Instagram to announce the split, asking for “privacy”.

“Sometimes in life, our paths change directions, and now this is one of those times for me, with Steve and I separating,” she wrote.

“I will not be making any further statements about this, and whilst I appreciate your support, I ask that you respect our right to privacy.”

Steven and Shaynna met at a Melbourne bar, engaging in a whirlwind romance that saw them engaged 11 months later.

In June 2021, she told TV WEEK that she would now keep her romantic relationships private while hinting that she had a new love.

“I’m taking my love life private,” she said. “My life has been splashed out there more than I ever wanted… All I can say is I’m very happy.”
