Sources claim Abbie Chatfield is “trying to control the narrative” as rumours swirl she has plans to quit her renowned podcast, It’s a Lot.

Following her claim to fame on The Bachelor Australia 2019, It’s a Lot was the launch pad for much of the 28-year-old’s career.

We’re talking about a sell-out sex toy collab with Vush, multiple Australia-wide live podcast tours, a national radio show, a role as a panellist on The Masked Singer Australia AND hosting gigs for Love Island Afterparty and FBOY Island Australia. In other words, she’s been busy AF!

However, as reported in episode 304 of the So Dramatic! podcast, Abbie allegedly has plans to finish up her pod by the end of 2023.

“Abbie is completely over her podcast,” one industry insider claimed. “She’s lost all inspiration and motivation for it.”

“She’s not enjoying it anymore and it’s starting to feel like a chore she’s resenting.”

The source added that her podcast network, LiSTNR, has been “putting pressure” on the reality star following criticism from fans that “her content isn’t as good as it once was”.

“Her numbers are down because of it, which Abbie knows.”

Abbie Chatfield has plans to ‘focus all of her energy on radio and TV’

On July 15, Abbie returned to social media following a short hiatus and also released a podcast episode explaining her absence.

The TV personality told her fans that she’s recently been in Thailand at RAKxa Wellness retreat to work on her “burnout”.

“I’ve been absolutely depleted and burnt out from the start of the year,” she said. “I’ve realised that my priorities need to shift, as I’ve taken on so many jobs and I’m trying to figure out what I do and don’t want to do.”

Abbie also noted that she plans to “reprioritise things so that my podcast is my main priority”.

However, sources say this isn’t exactly true.

“She’s burnt out because she’s been so thinly stretched across so many projects. Something’s gotta give,” they said.

“She feels like the podcast is not the best use of her time and she wants to focus all of her time and energy on radio and TV.”

In particular, the FBOY Island host has been “pushing for a breakfast radio spot”.

“She hopes that if she gives the podcast up, she can put that content towards her radio show instead and her fan base will follow her to the airwaves because they can’t listen to her anywhere else. So, she’s using that as a bargaining chip and hopes that’s the push she needs to get the breakfast spot,” the insider added.

“Abbie wants to go head-to-head with [The] Kyle and Jackie O [Show]. She feels she’s done the hard yards now and earnt it.”

Sources claim Abbie Chatfield’s recent It’s a Lot podcast episode was damage control

We know what you’re thinking: sources say Abbie is going to quit her podcast, but Abbie is saying it’s her “main priority”.

So, WTF is the go?

According to insiders, her July 18 podcast episode was her attempt to “control the narrative”.

“Her episode yesterday was her putting her foot down and sending a clear message to the network that she can’t keep doing it all,” they said. “She’s also planting the seeds with her fans.

“So… if she does stop the podcast, it’s not a shock and she can put blame on being burnt out because otherwise she knows her fans will feel like she’s abandoned them.”

They added: “The podcast and her socials used to be a way for her to connect with her audience and land more opportunities in media.

“But now that she’s achieved her goals, she wants to step back from being so connected to her fans and just focus on TV and radio.”
