Radio shock jock Kyle Sandilands was ambushed by police outside KIIS FM studios ahead of The Kyle and Jackie O Show‘s July 18 broadcast.
The 52-year-old has been very open about the fact he’s racked up thousands of dollars worth of parking and driving fines in the past. Even going as far as to suspect that the cops are hot on his trail for the misdemeanours.
In a video posted to The Kyle and Jackie O Show‘s Instagram page, several police officers could be seen waiting for Kyle when he rocked up for work at 5:30 am on July 18.
Police approached the Australian Idol judge as he stepped out of his Cadillac Escalade Platinum 4WD before Kyle attempted to talk himself out of trouble.
The father-of-one later revealed on-air that he wasn’t in strife at all.
“The highway patrol dude[s], they’ve come out and they’ve said, ‘Listen, we’ve heard you on the air saying you think the coppers are after you’,” he recounted.
“And they’ve come out to tell me they’re not after me.”
However, Kyle was sceptical due to having just “four points” remaining on his driver’s license. Nevertheless, the encounter ended on good terms, with Kyle calling one of the cops’ wives, who is a fan of his radio show.

In 2021, Kyle revealed he had accumulated close to $16,000 worth of fines in that year alone. Sheesh!
He also admitted he “sometimes” can “get away with parking” illegally.
“I’ve seen it with my own eyes,” he said on-air at the time.
His manager, Bruno Bouchet, added that some parking inspectors don’t bother fining Kyle because they are aware he won’t pay.
“There are a number of rangers who will never book you,” he said. “They’re good people, fans of the show and know it’s more hassle than worth to book you anyway.”
Seems unfair, but whatever…
Kyle added: “I never buy a ticket, I say f*ck the local council, I’m not paying you $4, screw yourself!”
Kyle, Bruno and Jackie O Henderson then broke down the fines.
The shock jock said he had 18 fines for “parking continuously longer than indicated” in a zone, which totalled up to $2,088.
For disobeying a stop sign 25 times, Kyle had to pay $5,675.
Kyle also owed $8,148 for stopping in a loading zone and being charged 42 times for the infringement.
Jackie O, saying what everyone was thinking, confessed it was “such a waste of money”.
However, Kyle claimed he sometimes doesn’t notice the ticket fines on his car and mistakes them for Domino’s flyers.
