It’s time to get your groove on because OG Australian Idol judge Marcia Hines has confirmed she’s returning to the panel for the 2024 season.

ICYMI: There’s been chatter that American import Meghan Trainor won’t return to the singing competition next season because she’s just popped out her second son, Barry Bruce Trainor.

Now, Marcia has revealed that, yup, Meghan is out, and the groove thang queen is IN.

Sharing the news in an interview with the Herald Sun, Marcia said she was “surprised and delighted” to be invited back following her guest judge stint in 2023.

“I really love that gig,” she confessed. “I don’t know if people realised how much it meant to me.”

“Why? Because like me, they just want to sing, they want to find a career in singing.”

The announcement comes after Kyle Sandilands teased that Aussie icon Kylie Minogue could join the panel.

But alas, Madam Padam won’t be making a foray onto the show.

Who else is on the Australian Idol panel in 2024?

Whispers of Meghan’s exit came by way of Yahoo! Lifestyle, which shared that producers were keen to resign the All About That Bass songstress.

Producers are willing to do anything to sign her back up and be as accommodating to her family as possible,” a source said.

“But logistically it’d be difficult as the days are so long on set.”

So, alongside Marcia and Kyle, who will be wearing their critiquing caps on Australian Idol 2024?

Yahoo! Lifestyle‘s insider added that current judge Amy Shark will “definitely” be back. Meanwhile, Harry Connick Jr, who has an Australian tour planned for late 2023, is “likely” to return after some “re-negotiating”.
