A Married at First Sight Australia bride got brutally shut down after begging a popular fashion designer for an invitation to his Australian Fashion Week show.

The star was none other than controversial bride Carolina Santos, who was shown the door after asking designer Michael Lo Sordo for an invite to his Sydney show.

And to make matters more cringe, all of this went down via Instagram DMs. Sheeesh!

On April 2, the 34-year-old reached out to the Aussie brand asking if she could attend their upcoming fashion show.

“Hi Team,” she wrote. “I would love to watch your show at AAFW in Sydney on the 15th.

“Is there any possibility I could get an invitation? Thank you.”

However, the MAFS villain‘s request was declined by the brand.

“Hi Carolina,” they responded. “Thank you for your message. It would be in my view respectful to be supporting and following the brand’s page before asking for free tickets or an inclusion to the anniversary show.” Ouch.

Carolina Santos apologises for not following Michael Lo Sordo’s brand page

The business owner kicked off her apology tour by stating that she only follows her friends and family, but she’s “more than happy” to follow the brand.

“I’m more than happy to follow as I truly love the brand. I actually come to check out your new posts every now and then to see the new drops,” she said.

“Please don’t be offended. The only reason I wasn’t following is because I only follow a very small amount of people,” she added.

Carolina went on to explain that she limited who she was following so that she’d spend less time on the gram and sure, Jan.

“It was becoming unhealthy the amount of time I was spending on social media, so one of the things I did was mainly follow friends,” she wrote.

“Even brands I work with I only follow if they ask me to.”

Carolina responds to leaked Fashion Week messages

Speaking to So Dramatic! after the incident, the bride revealed that she posted her exchange with the designer to her close friends and someone leaked it to the media.

“I’m still trying to find out who,” she dished.

Carolina went on to say that she wasn’t phased though because asking for invites to Fashion Week is “not a big deal”.

“Every year all the influencers email the PR team from the list of designers we are given asking for an invite,” she explained.

“When we don’t get it we usually are left with no response or with a polite response saying that they are at full capacity or hoping to sell out.”

The businesswoman then explained why she shared the messages online, saying, “I just shared with my close friends cos I thought their response was a little weird.”

She added: “I actually own a few Micheal Le Sordo pieces and even wore one when filming MAFS.”

Which Married at First Sight stars are attending Fashion Week this year?

MAFS brides Janelle HanTahnee Cook and Evelyn Ellis have all scored passes to Australian Fashion Week.

Janelle’s invitation doesn’t really come as a shock. She was already a bonafide TikTok star and makeup artist prior to her stint on MAFS.

Presumably, Tahnee’s background in fashion PR helped her make the list.

And Evelyn also made the cut, probably because she also dabbles in modelling.

Sandy Jawanda has also reportedly RSVP’d to attend as has Duncan James.

2022 alum Domenica Calarco is also attending Fashion Week this year and she’s expected to attend multiple shows.
