Abbie Chatfield‘s radio show Hot Nights has so many staff quitting at once it’s a wonder they get to air. However, an insider has revealed the situation isn’t as “scandalous” as it seems.
ICYMI: In recent weeks the three staff members have stepped down from the nightly show hosted by The Bachelor alum turned media personality under Southern Cross Austereo’s Hit Network.
The original Hot Nights with Abbie Chatfield co-host, Rohan Edwards resigned abruptly on April 17 and literally the next day Abbie revealed she’d been “dumped again” when her fill-in Hot Nights co-host Nic Kelly quit.
“Nic couldn’t do the long distance anymore, I miss him it’s so hard being away from you,” the 27-year-old said on April 18.
The show’s executive producer Max Corstorphan also quit in recent weeks.

So Dramatic! heard rumours Nic put in his resignation at SCA but we did a bit of digging and were of the belief Nic was offered the job and decided not to take it.
And we were on the money!
As revealed in episode 281 of the So Dramatic! podcast, a source dished on the circumstances around Nic’s departure from Hot Nights and it really does seem there was no malice involved.
“Nic is still working at SCA, he’s just not doing hot nights,” they revealed
“He turned the offer down because he didn’t want to move to Sydney.
“Nothing scandalous happened, the role just entails really hard hours and Nic didn’t want to make the move in the end.”
There’s something suss going on between Abbie Chatfield and Rohan Edwards
Rohan resigned from SCA after six years with the company to “pursue other interests” after taking the week off in the lead-up to the radio show’s two-week easter break.
SCA released a pretty vague statement as one would expect.
But a not-so-subtle post on his Instagram alluded to a bit of foul play between the pair despite their seemingly close friendship on air.
On April 24, Rohan shared a meme that read: “Quit hanging out with people who don’t want you to win”.
Naturally, fans were quick to assume it was aimed at Abbie.
But despite the chatter going on several sources have told So Dramatic! that the pair ended things on good terms.
“Rohan’s departure had nothing to do with Abbie personally,” they dished.
“There was a few conflict moments at the end but it does sound like they wrapped up on OK terms in the end.”
Just like the statement, they said Rohan planning to do his “own thing now”. Exactly what that is isn’t clear but it’s probably a podcast because, well, everyone has a podcast these days.
But that’s not the end of the staff issues
They say bad luck comes in threes but technically there’s a fourth staff member who is MIA.
Abbie’s It’s a Lot producer Lem Zakharia hasn’t quit, but she is taking extended leave while she’s back home in Jordan.
She has no return date but sounds like she’s still been in contact with Abbie.
However, that does mean basically no one is running the show at It’s a Lot.
The Hot Nights EP who quit a few weeks back also happened to be the producer of the It’s A Lot podcast.
However, things look to be (slightly) turning around for Abbie because, on April 26, Brooke Taylor was announced as the new Executive Producer of Hot Nights with Abbie Chatfield.
Sources reveal what Abbie Chatfield is like to work with
Fans have been quick to assume that the mass exodus is a result of Abbie’s treatment of her staff. But while that’s the word on the street, So Dramatic!’s sources say quite the contrary.
Several people who have worked with Abbie in the past said she’s “genuinely great to work with”.
Other people have also claimed Rohan’s departure was because his girlfriend isn’t comfortable with his close working relationship and friendship with Abbie.
He’s shared several off-the-cuff remarks that his bae has weird feelings about Abbie. However, our sources also say this is also untrue and not the cause of his departure.
