Abbie Chatfield‘s Hot Nights radio show is reportedly in crisis following the exodus of her co-host Rohan Edwards just weeks after the show’s executive producer quit.

The Bachelor alum turned media personality helms Hot Nights with Abbie Chatfield, a national radio show from 7-9 pm on weeknights and is broadcast across 50 stations as part of Southern Cross Austereo’s Hit Network.

It launched in January 2022 off the back of the 27-year-old‘s successful podcast, It’s A Lot in March 2020.

But the latest departure all but confirms rumours the show is in chaos behind the scenes.

Hot Nights with Abbie Chatfield‘s co-host quits

It’s reported Abbie‘s co-host Rohan resigned on April 17, the same day all major radio shows returned from a two-week hiatus over Easter.

Regular listeners also noticed his absence in the week leading up to the break as Nic Kelly filled in.

In a statement, an SCA spokesperson said Rohan left the network after more than six years to “pursue other interests”.

“Rohan Edwards has made the decision to step away from his role as anchor on the Hit Network’s Hot Nights with Abbie Chatfield show to pursue other interests,” the statement said.

“The Hit Network wishes Rohan all the best for his future.”

Rohan’s shock departure comes just weeks after Max Corstorphan, who also produced the It’s A Lot podcast, stepped down from his role as executive producer of Hot Nights.

Abbie Chatfield’s radio show rumoured to move into the breakfast slot

In August last year, The Daily Telegraph revealed SCA were priming Abbie as a breakfast radio host to rival Kyle Sandilands and Jackie O‘s insanely popular breakfast program.

“They’ll definitely make a play for Abbie in 2024,” the insider told the publication.

However, one of the factors holding them back was the network hadn’t “yet come up with the perfect on-air partner.”

“She’ll want someone young, fresh, modern, relatable … like her.”

Insiders believed the outspoken social media star would be the “wildcard” the network needed to knock KIIS FM’s Kyle and Jackie O Show off its decade-long winning streak.
