The Masked Singer Australia 2022 judge Abbie Chatfield is rumoured to be the next big breakfast radio star by 2024; however, if it happens, she’ll be up against The Kyle and Jackie O Show!

According to the Daily Telegraph, the 27-year-old is already being prepped to take over 2DayFM’s Sydney breakfast show, which is currently helmed by Dave “Hughesy” Hughes, Ed Cavalee and Erin Molan.

With a strong fanbase, the media personality would likely draw in audiences who weren’t keen on listening to controversial shock jock Kyle Sandilands and may just be the “wildcard” needed to end KIIS’ decade-long rating monopoly.

Radio Executives Reveal Why Abbie Chatfield Could Be 2Day FM’s Next Breakfast Radio Star

“They’ll definitely make a play for Abbie in 2024,” a radio executive told the outlet.

In addition, the station’s parent company, Southern Cross Austereo, had also been in discussions with her for next year; however, the exec admitted that she hadn’t signed on the dotted line because they hadn’t found the right co-host (yet).

The Bachie alum reportedly wanted a “young, fresh, modern, relatable” co-star, contrasting the current line-up of Hughesy, Ed and Erin.

Abbie is signed with SCA for her evening show, Hot Nights with Abbie Chatfield, and apparently, the current nightly slot has been used as a training ground.
