Sh*t is about to hit the fan at the Married at First Sight Australia 2023 Couples’ Retreat, and Melinda Willis and Bronte Schofield are at the centre of the drama.
In news that will surprise no one, it all kicks off with Harrison Boon, A.K.A. MAFS 2023‘s number one Agent of Chaos.
As reported in episode 265 of the So Dramatic! podcast, Harrison convinced Bronte following the March 5 Commitment Ceremony that Melinda and Layton Mills were faking their relationship.
“He started telling her that Melinda and Layton weren’t being genuine and Bronte stuck by him, which made Melinda and a number of the other girls turn against her for taking his side,” a source explained.
Harrison reportedly alleged that the duo weren’t “being honest” about the reality of their marriage, particularly because they rarely showed PDA in front of the other couples.
“Everyone thought they were not together and faking it.”
As such, the tension between Melinda and Bronte reaches new heights at the Couples’ Retreat and producers — make sure there are no smashable glasses around, pls!
What happens between Melinda Willis and Bronte Schofield at the Couples’ Retreat?
Another insider dished to host Megan Pustetto that the two brides “came to blows a lot” at the 2023 Couples’ Retreat.
“It was constant fighting the entire time until they have a huge blow-up during drinks one night,” they recalled.
“Bronte and Melinda didn’t see eye to eye, they were essentially fighting over Harrison. Melinda didn’t believe that he was genuine and vice versa and Bronte was defending him.
“Melinda calls them out for being fake.”
The beauty guru continued to accuse the controversial couple of “getting involved in her relationship” and claims Harrison “is obsessed with them”.
“Melinda calls Harrison a manipulator and says he’s throwing them under the bus to deflect from himself,” the source added.
“Bronte defends Harrison and stands by him, [until] it turns into a huge screaming match with everyone watching on.”
On-set sources have confirmed that Bronte “eventually stormed off in tears” as a result of her co-star’s “dominating” approach.
This isn’t the first tiff between Bronte and another bride though.
In episode 261 of the So Dramatic! podcast, it was revealed Bronte and Claire Nomarhas had a YUGE altercation after Claire allegedly (and falsely) told Sandy Jawanda that her one-foot-out-the-door hubby Dan Hunjas was into Bronte.
However, this was scrapped from the final edit — quel dommage!
