Harrison Boon has claimed that producers forced him to stay on Married at First Sight Australia 2023, despite his attempts to leave the show.
From having a secret girlfriend prior to filming to giving out his number on a night out, the 32-year-old has had his fair share of drama this season.
And as a result, producers *allegedly* wanted him to stay on the show for as long as possible.
Dring an appearance on Fitzy and Wippa, the builder revealed that he tried to leave the marriage experiment multiple times, but the producers wouldn’t let him.
“Yeah, I tried to leave week one,” he spilled.
“As much as people hate to admit it, if I wasn’t on the show it would be a boring season. Right?” And TBH, this is one of the rare occasions where we agree with Harrison.
The father-of-one continued by calling himself the “lightning rod” for the season and OK, whatever you say, mate.
“I’ve got a big personality and I’m quite controversially outspoken, which is a good dynamic for the MAFS franchise,” he explained.
“I was basically told, ‘If you leave, we don’t have a show’,” he continued.
“Like, ‘there’ll be no one in there to create that friction which is essentially what we need’.”
Talk about having tickets on yourself!
Harrison Boon says that producers are protecting the female contestants on Married at First Sight Australia 2023
Harrison then explained that producers have been “protecting” the female contestants on MAFS 2023 by giving them good edits.
“The women are 100% being protected by their edits,” he claimed.
He then dished that Sandy Jawanda, Claire Nomarhas, Lyndall Grace and his on-screen wife Bronte Schofield were receiving edits that didn’t accurately reflect their behaviour on MAFS 2023.
FYI, we’re choosing to take this info with a bucket of salt. We know Harrison has the tendency to gaslight people, and we refuse to be his next victims.
