The Bachelors Australia 2023 fans were outraged by Felix Von Hofe‘s reaction to one of his contestants being polyamorous and in an open relationship.
During the January 11 episode, Jess Navin‘s polyamorous relationship was “exposed” to the Bachelors after she shared her situation with the other female contestants in confidence.
Paint-by-numbers TV villain Tash Candyce decided to share the “tea” with her second choice Bachie, Jed McIntosh, without clarifying that Jess wasn’t cheating on her partner and was in an open relationship.
Tash tried to justify her gossiping by explaining Jess being in a polyamorous relationship “didn’t sit right” with her.
“If there’s someone in the outside world who you’ve got that emotional attachment with, that you love, then what are you here for? Money?” Tash asked.

Just a friendly reminder that polyamory is literally defined as seeking multiple romantic relationships at the same time.
Explicit consent from everybody involved is vital in polyamorous relationships and Felix wasn’t yet informed.
But even Tash admitted that Jess had been planning on talking to her Bach about it all if they went on a single date. You know, in private. Not in front of 30+ other people…

Of course, not everybody is comfortable with being non-monogamous.
Still, fans thought it was pretty goddamn ironic the “white picket fence kind of guy” – who was currently “dating” eleven women at the same time – was so adamantly against “open relationships”.
“I love a threesome, but I just don’t want to do it with my wife,” Felix said. Classy!
