In a shocking twist that was totally unexpected by long-time reality TV fans, some of The Bachelors Australia 2023’s contestants are actors.

With Bachie alum like Sam Frost, Tim Robards and Adam Todd transitioning to legit acting gigs, it’s hard to deny that a reality TV debut is a great way to get your name known to casting agents and producers.

And yeah, we admit that actors are actually allowed to find love too (it’s a difficult concept for us, too, don’t worry!). But their careers do certainly leave us feeling uncertain whether they’re on The Bachelors for the “right reasons”.

We think The Bachelors Australia 2023 may have even set a new record for how many contestants have had small TV stints (or attempts) in the past. Let’s break them down…

Leah Cummings

A familiar face to reality TV experts, Leah Cummings actually won the short-lived series The Proposal in 2019.

But that clearly didn’t kickstart her acting OR relationship goals as she had hoped!

As reported in episode 242 of the So Dramatic! podcast, a (somewhat jaded) acquaintance of Leah revealed: “It’s super-cringe how desperate she is to be famous. She does full launch parties to build up hype. She’s a bit intense.

“She’s desperate to be famous and has been for years. She has previously been on The Proposal then got fully cast for the last season of Farmer Wants a Wife and did the entire process for that [sic],” they said.

“Then Bach came calling so she aborted her mission on FWAW thinking she would get more attention from The Bachelor.” AWKS!

Alesia Delaney

The Bachelors Australia 2023’s Alesia Delaney has ticked all the ‘aspiring actor’ boxes. She has a whole portfolio full of modelling photos and a (now-deleted) StarNow Profile.

The 28-year-old also worked as a background actor for the blockbuster film, The Great Gatsby, so she seemingly has a legit agent as well.

She also used to date Justice Crew member Lenny Pearce, one of the band’s twins (the brother of The Wiggles guy).

One contestant dished to So Dramatic! thatshe told everyone in the house she used to date a guy from Justice Crew, but no one cared. Everyone was rolling their eyes.” LOL!

Ella Thiele

Elle Thiele is a bit of a wildcard because she’s not exactly an influencer… yet. But it appears she may have had aspirations to become a content creator for quite some time.

So Dramatic! Daily podcast

As a part of a university project, Ella had to explain who her favourite YouTube personality was, and she interestingly chose Sammy Robinson.

You know, another blonde Australian influencer who started off working in media communications.

#Manifestation!

Jess Tomlinson

Miss Universe competitor Jess Tomlinson will also appear on the upcoming season of Married at First Sight.

She’s set to reveal at her best friend Bronte Schofield‘s wedding that her new groom previously dated her Bachelor co-star.

Two TV appearances in one month?! Go, Jess!

She’s also friends with Love Island Australia’s Maddy Gillbanks and seriously, how do these people all know each other?!

Jess Navin

It has already been revealed that Jess Navin‘s polyamorous relationship would be featured on The Bachelors Australia, so it’s no wonder she’s made headlines.

But Jess is also an actor and promo model, working at children’s parties as a Disney princess and Elsa impersonator from the movie Frozen. She’s also signed up with an influencer agency and has a StarNow profile.

Tash Candyce

Alleged “villain” Tash Candyce is certainly no stranger to reality TV, with romantic connections to two former The Bachelorette Australia stars.

Tash (formerly Natasha Zuanetti) has also had her own taste for reality TV, having appeared on First Dates in 2017.

She was also lined up as a Married at First Sight Australia participant in 2019 before pulling out to pursue a relationship with The Bachelorette Australia’Michael Turnbull.

The 30-year-old real estate agent later caught the media’s attention once again by posting a selfie with The Bachelorette Australia’s Agostino ‘Aggi’ Guardiani.

An insider suspected she isn’t quite over Michael yet because she spoke about him non-stop in the mansion.

Gold Coast-based model Krystal Thomas allegedly said to her: “Babe just shut up about it. You’re old news.”

The insider alleged: “Tash was like, ‘I’m not old news. I’ve been in the Daily Mail’. She said that on camera. It was so embarrassing. I feel like that’s something you don’t want to brag about.”

Drama alert!

Marnie Klippelt

We’ve got yet another contestant has connections with multiple The Bachelorette Australia alum… Marni Klippelt is friends with Dan Wolf and previously dated Niranga Amarasinghe.

She’s also the former partner of YouTuber Sharmi Prasad.

An insider who went to the same school as Marnie told Megan Pustetto that the single mother-of-two is “nice”. Wow, thanks for those juicy deets!

They continued: “Both her children’s dads have bad neck tattoos so I think that the blonde Bachelor is going to be right up her alley lol.”

What a shame she’s not paired with Jed!
