Thanks to a never-getting-out-of-our-heads singing voice, some telling mannerisms and some very obvious clues, we think we worked out exactly who is behind The Masked Singer Australia 2022’s Zombie mask.

While there have been some compelling guesses from Abbie Chatfield and Mel B (including Dancing with the Stars alum Bec Hewitt and Ru Paul’s Drag Race Down Under host Ru Paul Charles), we reckon Chrissie Swan‘s guess of former YellowWiggle Emma Watkins is right on the money!

It’s quite the disguise for the iconic children’s entertainer — who now as a solo project, Emma Memma — with horrifying graphics in the clue teasers.

We’ve seen Zombie eating a bodyguard with blood spurting everywhere and blood dripping from her mask. Not exactly something you’d see on The Wiggles! However, they do have a song called Zombie Feet — so, case closed!

Which Clues Prove Former Yellow Wiggle Emma Watkins is Zombie on The Masked Singer Australia 2022

In her first clue package, Zombie said that her “performances will live forever”. And for anybody who has had a Wiggles song stuck in their heads, this is undoubtedly true.

She continued: “I used to feel entitled, but I’m not as green as I used to be… or as orange. Would you care for a baked potato?”

Of course, Yellow is between green and orange on the colour wheel. And a potato? “Hot potato, hot potato!”

The orange is also a reference to Emma’s iconic red hair, as was the Nikki Webster photograph she held (which also had double meaning as they both attended McDonald College in Sydney) and her new solo project, which uses an orange and peach colour palette.

Meanwhile, the green apples could also reference her previous role as an Aussie apple ambassador, Miss Granny Smith 2009. She has also previously performed as Dorothy the Dinosaur, who is green.

Finally, the fruits could also refer to the Wiggles’ song Fruit Salad…yummy! Yummy!

“I’m not wicked but I’m not magical either,” Zombie says, as a green-faced witch cartoon flies across the screen.

According to the Wigglepedia (yeah, that’s a thing), Emma auditioned for the stage musical Wicked before trying out for The Wiggles. The musical follows the (green-faced) witch’s perspective from Wizard of Oz.

As for the ‘Urban Transit System” and India clue? This could be referencing the University of Technology Sydney — where she completed a degree in 2012 and that she used to perform in Bollywood!

During the most recent package (at the time of publication), she revealed she’s “not magical either”. And then a pink wand pops up on the screen.

Before her starring role as “Emma Wiggle”, Emma played Fairy Larissa in the WigglesDorothy the Dinosaur concerts and videos.

Her final quote (so far): “I’m Zombie and I’d rather die than lose The Masked Singer” seems less of a clue for whose behind the mask and more of a funny pun about being undead!

We see you, Emma Watkins!
