An upcoming reality TV contestant Jess Navin was in an open, polyamorous relationship while appearing on The Bachelors Australia 2023.
As reported in episode 238 of the So Dramatic! podcast, the bridal shop stylist already had a boyfriend when appearing on the new Bachie series, as she identifies as polyamorous (poly, for short).
Polyamory is a form of ethical non-monogamy, which centres around having committed relationships (typically, but not exclusively romantic) between two or more people, according to Psych Central.
An insider who knows Jess personally confirmed to host Megan Pustetto that Jess hasn’t been with her established boyfriend for long, but he was “100 per cent supportive and on board with her doing the show”. Love that for them!
“Her boyfriend drove her to meet the Bachie on the show. They filmed them both at home here in Townsville for her back story,” our source revealed.

A production insider also confirmed the show’s progressive twist, affirming that everybody involved was informed about ethical non-monogamy.
“Jess is polyamorous. So she’s got a boyfriend at home. They’re in an open relationship and he knew she was going on the show. He was OK with it. She told everyone about it. She wasn’t hiding it at all,” the insider said.
They added: “The girls were all confused about it and had no idea what a polyamorous relationship was or how it worked.”
People in polyamorous or ethical non-monogamy relationships are often met with a lot of bias due to misunderstandings and lack of public awareness, with some falsely assuming it is the same as polygamy (which is more of a Sister Wives kinda situation).
However, the production source also suggested Jess would be “letting go of her boyfriend at home to then pursue things with Felix“. That is if he chose her.
“We were all like, ‘holy sh*t, that’s pretty heavy’. Imagine being the boyfriend… That would suck! So yeah, that was a huge drama and a big talking point throughout a lot of the show,” they said.
Who is The Bachelors Australia 2023′s Jess Navin?
As well as her work as a bridal stylist, Jess is a 26-year-old model, actor and influencer.
She has previously appeared in several stageplays, played several Disney princesses for children’s birthday parties and worked in promotions, including Red Rooster and V8 Supercars.
She’s even signed with an influencer agency called The Right Fit and has several donation tabs on her LinkTree.
