Life Uncut hosts Laura Byrne and Brittany Hockley have been called out for censoring and deleting their fans’ constructive criticism amid the ongoing slut shaming debacle.

ICYMI (not sure how at this point tho): On December 13, Abbie blasted the radio host Kyle Sandilands and current co-host Brittany for offensive comments they made about her on The Kyle and Jackie O Show.

Brittany apologised for her “misogynistic tone” but soon after, Laura took to Instagram to fan the flames by criticising Abbie for hosting the upcoming reality show FBoy Island.

The back and forth between Brittany, Abbie, Laura and your neighbour’s best friend’s cousin (just kidding!) has been intense, and now Life Uncut fans have officially joined the (cursed) chat.

While some have tried to tank Abbie’s It’s a Lot podcast ratings, others have attempted to educate Brittany and Laura about how their comments were problematic… and were unceremoniously blocked or had their comments deleted.

Laura Byrne and Brittany Hockley are censoring (former) Life Uncut fans

As reported in episode 239 of the So Dramatic! podcast, Laura and Brittany have been censoring their own fans who have tried to have an educated discussion with the two Bachie alum.

Yikes! We didn’t know this could get worse but apparently, they just keep reaching new lows.

One listener wrote to us, explaining that they were “heavily uncomfortable that a brand based on women, love and sexual empowerment can be so casual about sweeping this all under the rug”.

“Any comments asking about the Abbie slut-shaming are deleted instantly like they don’t exist,” they said.

They continued: “Brit’s PR-scripted apology isn’t really vibing with me. If you were actually sorry you would leave the comments up and apologise to them.

“I feel bad for Laura but if she’s condoning all this and is happy deleting every opposing comment then she is part of the problem too. Makes me sad because I was a huge fan of both of them!”

Another group moment added: “Nothing else has been posted about the censorship and the Life Uncut group that is admined by them is radio silent about the issue I’d say posts aren’t making it through the admin approval and comments are being deleted quick smart just like that post was deleted [sic].”

Brittany Hockley and Laura Byrne have added admin approval to Life Uncut’s private Facebook group since the saga unfolded

A former Life Uncut fan confirmed that moderators are deleting comments on the podcast’s private Facebook group.

“Just FYI, Life Uncut Facebook group are now censoring posts. They’ve turned on approval of posts meaning Britt and Laura can approve or deny the posts,” the listener told us.

They continued: “There has never been admin approval in that group. Ever. it’s famously not a thing in Life Uncut. They have always said they don’t have the manpower for admin approval.”

In August 2021, a post on the Life Uncut Facebook group confirmed they never usually use admin approval.

“We genuinely think that everyone in the group is an adult and able to have mature and reasonable discussions,” one of the Life Uncut producers wrote at the time,” they said.

“It is also because we are all really busy, mostly creating podcast content. Having admin approval on would mean that not all of your questions would be answered and it could take a few days for them to be posted.”

Positive posts about Brittany Hockley prove that the Life Uncut moderators haven’t gone on hiatus

However, they did have time to allow positive posts to be shared on the Life Uncut page, singing Brittany’s praises for achieving third place on The Challenge Australia.

When other Facebook users started writing about the scandal under positive posts, their comments were reportedly deleted within 20 minutes.

There is a secondary Life Uncut Facebook group for parents, which is run by fans, rather than the podcast’s team. Of course, this page has seen open discussions about the drama, as well as the censorship.

Laura Byrne and Matty J Johnson have blocked fans on Instagram

Laura and her husband Matty J Johnson have also been blocking fans on Instagram and deleting comments about the drama.

One insider gave us strong evidence that the couple have even been taking down “nice” comments that are “just simply asking her to be held accountable, instead of addressing stuff.”

Not even fans who tried to privately DM the rogue reality stars were safe.

Another person said that Brittany blocked them after she replied to her story, asking: “But what about properly addressing the Kyle stuff and maybe the backlash won’t be as harsh.” Seems like good advice to us!

Fans attempt to share their concerns for Brittany Hockley and Laura Byrne’s poor media decisions

Plenty of other former Life Uncut fans have sent their concerns to us, sharing their belief that Laura and Brittany are damaging their own brand with their consistent denial.

“Their group is an echo chamber. The Life Uncut ‘Discussion’ Group [is] so heavily moderated no one can have said discussion,” one listener said.

Another added: “A heap of comments were made on a post earlier and it was very quickly deleted. So disappointing they’re trying to cover up the situation. Allow your listeners to discuss and own it. Hiding and silencing it fuels the fire.”

“My comment has now been deleted. [Laura is] happy to label someone as a hypocrite on her stories but can’t take people questioning her own hypocrisy,” a third wrote.

Listeners were expecting Laura Byrne and Brittany Hockley to discuss the drama on Life Uncut

Life Uncut listeners had also expected the duo to address the issue on the podcast this week… but they (obvs) received zilch!

They said: “What I find disappointing is that they did not even address it on their podcast this am. Just hoping it gets swept under the rug?

“Britt did the post and said she has since responded to Abbie, which Abbie denies. Then Laura posted? But nothing in the group or on their podcast-wise…

“…That speaks volumes!” It sure does!
