The Poodle is gracing The Masked Singer Australia 2022 stage for “one night only”, and we’re pretty sure we know who is under the adorable pink puppy mask.
While we haven’t received any clues for Poodle — due to the fact she isn’t an actual contestant — she is somebody with a somewhat “spicy” connection to one of the judges.
“For one night only, a Hollywood mega-star will take to the stage,” the premiere episode declared. At the same time, a recent Instagram post described Poodle as an “international” star and called her reveal the “spiciest one yet”.
With that in mind, our best guess for the Poodle is precisely what the sneak peeks want you to believe – The Spice Girls’ Emma Bunton.
In all the previews, judge Mel “B” Brown adamantly shouts that Poodle is “Baby Spice“.
It seems too obvious, right? The Masked Singer wouldn’t put the answer in the trailer…or would they?!
We’re calling it – it’s a double fake-out. The Masked Singer Australia 2022 is dangling Emma’s name under our noses because it seems too good to be true.
The Masked Singer Australia Has Used a Close Connection To The Panel Before
It’s probably a good time to point out we’ve seen special guests on The Masked Singer Australia before.
In 2021, Kyle Sandilands performed as the Paw Patrol character Rubble to surprise his radio co-star Jackie O Henderson.
Last year, former judge Jackie O was (apparently) stumped by Kyle’s performance and had no clue it was him.
It would make sense that this year, they take a different approach to the surprise guest – allowing Mel B to recognise Emma’s voice.
They’re tricky!
Why The Masked Singer Australia’ 2022s Poodle is Spice Girls Member Emma “Baby Spice” Bunton
According to Daily Mail Australia, Emma was spotted having lunch with Mel B in Sydney in July. The Masked Singer Australia was filmed in Sydney and recorded during the same period.
Emma and Mel B recently appeared together on Netflix’s The Circle season four, combining forces to catfish as their alter-ego “Jared“.
The Poodle costume could also be a sneaky hint to their recent Netflix appearance, as Mel B brought her Yorkshire Terrier puppy Cookie onto The Circle.
As for the distinct colour and Grease-inspired jacket, Emma wore pastels as Baby Spice and was often seen in pink.
According to TV Guide, Emma first decided she wanted to be a singer after seeing the late Olivia Newton-John’s performance in Grease.
Like many stars appearing on reality TV, Emma also has a new product to spruik. She recently launched her baby-wipes brand Kit and Kin in Australia, promoting the launch on breakfast TV.
Who Else Could Be The Poodle on The Masked Singer Australia?
We’ve got to admit, that our Baby Spice theory isn’t quite as solid as some of our other recent guesses.
So we’re willing to throw a couple of other names out as possible contenders. We’ve got three more guesses for each Masked Singer Australia judge.
First up is yet another Spice Girls member, Mel C. She fits in with the “spiciest one yet” hint and previously performed a Grease-inspired dance routine dressed as Sandy on Dancing with the Stars UK. Although, TBH, it reeeeally doesn’t sound like her!
Our other two guesses focus on their “Hollywood mega-star” hint because while we OFC recognise Spice World for its classic piece of cinematic history, we can’t really connect Emma or Mel C with “Hollywood”.
A Former Judge Could Return as Poodle on The Masked Singer Australia 2022
With three new judges this year, the only remaining original panellist, Dave “Hughesy” Hughes, could have a connection with the guest performer.
We reckon The Masked Singer Australia could have roped former judge and certified “Hollywood mega-star” Lindsay Lohan back for a one-time performance.
Okay, this is a stretch, but one of Lindsay’s most iconic roles was Cady Heron in Mean Girls.
What’s one of the most famous lines from the 2004 hit movie? When the Plastics tell Cady: “On Wednesdays, we wear pink!”
The pink Poodle will perform on August 24, which just happens to be a Wednesday!

Finally, our last guess hinges on the star’s Aussie in Hollywood status and her most recent IMDB credit.
Margot Robbie could have taken a few days away from filming the long-awaited Barbie movie in Los Angeles.
Poodle sings Madonna’s Material Girl, and the pink ensemble screams Barbie movie promo.
So many people it could be… but we are banking on Baby Spice!
