As Married at First Sight Australia 2022 gets even more chaotic, we bet you’re all wondering which of these cursed couples are still together in the real world.
It’s no secret that the experts have less than pure intentions when matchmaking the contestants. However, we can’t deny that Married at First Sight has produced a handful of lasting relationships.
However, with the ninth instalment already off to a hectic start, it’s hard to pick who will emerge from this year’s experiment more loved-up than ever.
So, which Married at Sight Australia couples do we think have stuck it out, and who’s already filing for a faux-divorce?
Olivia Frazer and Jackson Lonie
Since locking eyes at the altar, Olivia Frazer and Jackson Lonie have done nothing but warm our cold, dead hearts.
To everyone’s genuine shock, the experts have created the perfect match in this pair, which is more than we can say for the rest of this year’s couples.
While it isn’t uncommon for “perfect” relationships to fall apart in the experiment, this couple seems to be as strong as ever.
Given Jackson has already moved to the Central Coast to be with Olivia, it’s no surprise they chose to stay together at the Final Vows.
However, the ceremony wasn’t without drama, one source revealed in episode 167 of the So Dramatic! podcast.
“They make it all dramatic and like Jackson is going to leave Olivia because of her behaviour and his concerns,” the insider said. “It’s all just for drama… Of course they stay together.”
To absolutely nobody’s surprise, the pair also rocked up smitten to the MAFS reunion.
Do we think they’re still together? Uh, duh!
Andrew Davis and Holly Greenstein
Andrew Davis and Holly Greenstein are perhaps the most ill-matched couple Married at First Sight has ever seen.
As if Andrew’s claim that he’s slept with over 350 women wasn’t enough to send his wife into a spiral, but the blatant fact that he doesn’t want kids — whereas Holly is desperate for them — was the final nail in the coffin.
Although Andrew returned to set after storming off during Confessions Week, So Dramatic! reported that his last hurrah was actually during the second dinner party.
Holly later attended the second Commitment Ceremony alone, slamming her husband and co-stars for belittling her during the experiment.
According to one star, the 36-year-old also had some choice things to say about her TV groom.
“She didn’t say much,” one contestant spilled. “Just that she never wants to see him again and what he did was unforgivable.”
Naturally, Holly finally wrote “Leave”. And you know what, good on her.
Do we think they’re still together? F*ck no!
Cody Bromley and Selina Chhaur
Selina Chhaur and Cody Bromley got off to a rocky start after the groom admitted he thought his new wife was a little OTT.
After things appeared to get back on track during their honeymoon, their marriage completely derailed when Confessions Week took a sledgehammer to their relationship.
Fans of MAFS were left shellshocked after Cody, in his typical insensitive fashion, confessed he’s “not racist” but is attracted to “more familiar” women who were “blonde” and “surfy” as opposed to Selina, who is of Asian heritage.
As expected, that went down as well Andrew coming face-to-face with the prospect of being pegged.
Despite Cody continually retreating from giving his all to Selina, the pair shockingly choose to stay together at their Final Vows.
However, it isn’t all sunshine and roses for the pair post-MAFS.
Although they arrived at the reunion loved-up, Cody DUMPED Selina straight after the reunion dinner party. WHUT?
Cody dumped Selina… at 5 am in the morning or something,” one contestant said. Literally straight after the dinner party. It’s f*cked up!”
Do we think they’re still together? Nahhhhh.
Domenica Calarco and Jack Millar
Nothing says consummating a marriage like watching a goat give birth together, which is why we’re rooting for MAFS 2022‘s Domenica Calarco and Jack Millar.
Despite bonding over their shared Italian heritage and their honeymoon going off without a hitch, things took a turn once they moved in together.
Long story short: Domenica wasn’t impressed with the lack of sex they were having, while Jack wasn’t keen on having sex with his bride while she was on his period. Ah, a true tale of love and war.
After chatting to his fellow groom bros, Jack got over that little hump (pun intended) and since then they’ve been our fave couple on MAFS, like, ever.
One source revealed that the pair was “a team from start to finish”, so it was a “no-brainer” for them to continue their relationship post-show.
However, their romance didn’t translate into the real world as much as they’d hoped. Having arrived at the reunion separately, a source revealed Domenica and Jack’s “final couch [chat] went for ages”.
“It’s a complicated relationship,” they said in episode 168 of the So Dramatic! podcast. “They aren’t together but remain best friends.” Phew, at least things ended amicably!
Do we think they’re still together? No, and BRB, crying ’bout it.
Ella Ding and Mitch Eynaud
Sparks were flying between this picture-perfect couple from the get-go.
Tacky porno music and Ella Ding‘s “horny bride” edit aside, she and Mitch Eynaud actually have the makings of a successful MAFS couple. Who woulda thunk it?!
For a hot minute there we doubted that Mitch could overcome his lack of depth (as Ella put it), and yup, we were right.
After an explosive stoush at the final dinner party, Ella and Mitch spent the night alone before reconvening at their Final Vows ceremony some time later.
One current contestant dished to So Dramatic! that despite their fight, Ella wanted Mitch to “commit” and “make [their relationship] official”.
“Considering they were going to be living in different states, she wanted to know where she stood and what their plans for the future were,” they said.
Surprise, surprise — Mitch told Ella that “he can’t give her what she wants right now”. Yikes.
BUT!! The pair rekindled their romance before the MAFS 2022 reunion, which was “a huge shock to everyone considering what happened”, one star said.
Now, Mitch and Tamara are actually dating IRL and have been spotted hanging out together on the Gold Coast several times.
Do we think they’re still together? Nope!
Anthony Cincotta and Selin Mengu
While these two single parents seemed like a perfect match at their wedding, the façade quickly crumbled before us onscreen.
We saw Anthony Cincotta giving his all to Selin Mengu, while fans turned on the mum-of-one for seemingly not wanting a bar of her “gentlemanly” hubby.
However, as reported in episode 147 of the So Dramatic! podcast, quite a bit has been left on the cutting room floor!
One source dished: “Something went down on the wedding night and he crossed a lot of her boundaries. That’s why she felt uncomfortable to be around him after that.”
They also added that Anthony “has a bad temper” and soon turned “manipulative and controlling” after “love bombing” his bride.
Whatever the case is —Selin’s skewed opinion of what a “real man” is, coupled with Anthony’s alleged short fuse, was a recipe for disaster, with the pair amicably leaving the experiment after a short few weeks.
Do we think they’re still together? Absolutely not.
Samantha Moitzi and Al Perkins
We somehow think Samantha Moitzi and Al Perkins bypassed MAFS straight for Babysitter at First Sight.
It was at this wedding that we became convinced the experts are just taking us for a ride, because Sam asked for an “older, independent” man and was paired with, well, Al.
A self-confessed mummy’s boy, the 25-year-old tradie has never done a household chore in his life. His wife literally had to teach him how to use a washing machine.
Despite writing leave, Samantha promised to give her relationship with Al one last go but the romance just wasn’t there.
Do we think they’re still together? All signs point to NOPE.
Brent Vitiello and Tamara Djordjevic
If Tamara Djordjevic‘s disdain for retail and hospitality workers wasn’t a bad omen for her marriage to hospitality manager Brent Vitiello, we don’t know what is.
After getting to know each other, 30-year-old Brent admitted that he was enjoying his time with his “fussy” bride. However, his viewing party of the Married at First Sight 2022 premiere was a very telling glimpse into where his relationship stands today.
Taking to Instagram Stories, a number of Brent’s close friends shared footage of themselves watching the series premiere with the groom.
A number of his MAFS co-stars were present, but Tamara was nowhere to be seen, which is no surprise considering Brent went absolutely HAM at his bride during their Final Vows.
One source said that Brent “does not hold back” and “goes savage” on his TV wife following weeks of tumultuous drama between the pair.
“He throws his vows on the floor and walks off,” the contestant dished. “It was his chance to say everything to her.
Do we think they’re still together? Hard no.
