The Block 2023‘s Ash Milton has spilled on the shock amount the cast gets paid to star on the hit renovation show.
During an appearance on Triple M Breakfast with Margaux, Marto and Dan, Ash revealed the not-so-grand amount of cash the contestants would earn per day.
“I’m still under a contract. I don’t know how much I can say,” he started. “But you get a little bit of pocket money a day. It was around $100 (per person) per day, which isn’t bad.”
The father-of-three, who appeared on the show alongside his wife, Leah Milton, hinted that the show didn’t pay participants enough.
“You’ve still got to run a house at home,” he continued. “I shut down my whole business while I was down there. You know what I mean?”
How much have The Block stars been paid in the past?
The pay has stayed the same over the years, as 2022 star Sarah–Jane Wilson, who competed with her bae Tom Calleja, also revealed that each cast member made $100 a day.
However, after daycare costs for their daughter Cleo, who was one at the time, the couple were only left with a combined $80 to cover their bills and personal expenses.
