Former Married at First Sight Australia 2018 groom Ryan Gallagher has responded to Nick Kyrgios‘ swipe at I’m A CelebrityGet Me Out Of Here! for not casting actual celebrities.

Ryan, who was cast in the 2020 season of I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here, took to Instagram and re-shared Nick’s post and added some fighting words of his own.

“Rather be just known in Australia than known worldwide as a f***wit,” Ryan wrote referring to the 27-year-old sportsman’s sullied reputation.

Nick Kyrgios makes a savage swipe at I’m A Celebrity

Nick revealed the “people that go on that show [I’m A Celebrity] tend to not be celebrities anyway before accusing the cast of doing it “to get money…”

“They take themselves a bit too seriously because they are known in Australia,” he continued.

Despite what Nick thinks, a number of other high-profile stars have appeared on the show since its Australian debut in 2013.

In fact, his fellow Aussie tennis star Bernard Tomic was a part of season four in 2018. He became the first contestant in I’m A Celebrity history to withdraw after just three days.

Other sports stars like AFL great Barry Hall, late cricketing legend Shane Warne, and boxers Anthony Mundine and Danny Green have also entered the jungle over the years.

Among the cast members battling it out in the jungle this season are Dominica Calarco from Married at First Sight Australia 2022, Ian ‘Dicko’ Dickson from Australian Idol and former Bachelor Nick ‘The Honey Badger’ Cummins.
