I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! Australia 2023‘s Kerri-Anne Kennerley dropped a surprising claim about co-star Domenica Calarco during a recent interview on The Project.
The long-time media personality sensationally ditched the jungle-based reality series just four days into the competition after an intense eating challenge became her final straw.
Competing alongside the Married at First Sight Australia bride, as well as Ian “Dicko” Dickson and Woody Whitelaw, Kerri-Anne refused to eat an antelope testicle.
Recalling Domenica’s dubbing her “self-centred” for her failure to take part in the challenge, the TV legend told The Project‘s Georgie Tunny on April 7 that the MAFS bride was the real reason she quit the show.
Claiming she didn’t want to leave so early in the piece, Kerri-Anne said the decision to step out on I’m a Celebrity was “hard” and “emotional”.
“It was a pretty rough previous hour and a half. I can’t remember having ever been spoken to like that… in my entire life,” she explained.
She also levelled that Domenica’s fighting words had more to do with her own issues with the challenge.
“Dom had two tries at trying to finish the testicles. She couldn’t manage it. And that, you know, that’s nothing to be ashamed of. She’s a vegetarian, and it’s pretty yucky,” Kerri-Anne explained.
“She was more disappointed in herself, I believe, and I could tell, mentally she just got really, really down on herself.
“She was disappointed that she couldn’t finish [the trial]…and was imploding way before she got to me.”

Opening up about her final I’m a Celebrity challenge, Kerri-Anne revealed what would have convinced her to try the testicles.
Apparently, it all came down to Domenica’s participation.
“If Dom had finished [the trial] or started and finished that, I would’ve done it,” she said. “I could have done it, I would’ve done it. The boys, they got right into it. If Dom had done it, I would’ve.
“I would never have let those three down, without question.”

Taking to Instagram, controversial media personality Meshel Laurie weighed in on the I’m a Celebrity rift, backing up “living legend” Kerri-Anne.
Sharing a screenshot of an article about Kerri-Anne’s exit, Meshel said she could not compete against Domenica herself.
“I don’t know who this [Domenica] person is but there’s not enough money in the world for me to spend time under constant camera surveillance with her, let alone under the constant threat of public humiliation,” she penned.
“It’s f*cked. I don’t understand why anyone would do it. There are actual jobs you can do. Normal jobs. Why would anyone rather do this than a job? I don’t get it, I have a business.
“I might not be on tv, but I’d rather not be on tv, than on tv like this.”
Stating that Kerri-Anne is an “actual living legend”, Meshel said she shouldn’t have “to deal with these people in a jungle”.
“Our industry is officially dead.”

The eating challenge wasn’t the only time Domenica and Kerri-Anne faced off.
The MAFS fan-fave previously lost her sh*t over her co-star’s special provision to wear makeup in the jungle.
Under normal circumstances, makeup and other luxury items are not permitted.
However, Kerri-Anne is no normal person and managed to negotiate several additional terms into her contract before agreeing to take part in the show.
Naturally, Domenica was not happy, Jan, and broke down over the “power imbalance”.
“Why does she think it’s okay that she gets makeup and no one else gets skincare and makeup?” the one-time reality star sulked to her fellow campmates.
“I feel as though there’s a power imbalance there.”
