British food writer Nigella Lawson is returning to My Kitchen Rules alongside Colin Fassnidge and long-time judge Manu Feildel.
Nigella’s official casting confirmation for the 2023 series comes after reports that the 63-year-old wouldn’t be returning to the show for a second year.
“I’m so thrilled to be back on MKR! It combines two of my favourite pastimes: championing home cooking and eating wonderful Australian food,” the chef said in a statement. Chef’s kiss! We cannot wait to see the queen of the kitchen grace our screens again!
Nigella replaced controversial judge Pete Evans in the first half of the 2022 season, and she quickly became a fan favourite, with viewers calling her a “massive upgrade”. However, she was replaced by Matt Preston for the second half of the series.
Last year, Nigella shared her excitement about starring in the 2022 season.
“When you think about the food you love, it’s nearly always home cooking,” she said.
“I’m a home cook and it’s the food that I want to eat. I’ve come 17,000 kilometres to find Australia’s best home cooks.”
What else do we know about My Kitchen Rules 2023?
This year, the series will be getting a slight shake-up, as Manu and Colin will be co-hosting and judging the show together.
Much like previous seasons, MKR 2023 will be filmed all over Australia in the kitchens of the contestants.
The start date hasn’t yet been revealed, but production is about to commence, so we should expect the show to hit our screens before the end of the year.
Little else is known about the shiny new series, but as always, watch this space!
