Experts say that the Married at First Sight Australia 2023 brides don’t have what it takes to make it as full-time influencers once the season wraps.

Let’s be honest, people sign up to MAFS for one of two reasons: to find love or to cop impressive brand deals.

But unfortunately for those who went on the show for the latter, a professional influencer manager reckons this year’s cast doesn’t have what it takes to turn their 15 minutes of fame into a successful Instagram career.

“These days you can’t quit your day job with anything less than 300,000 followers and even then they have to be super engaged. The market is more saturated than ever,” the influencer manager told Yahoo Lifestyle.

Although many contestants have signed with talent managers already, their follower counts aren’t even close to what they need to make it in the industry. Eek! Who’s gonna tell them?

TBH, it seems like some sort of karmic punishment for signing up for MAFS for the wrong reasons anyway…

The Married at First Sight 2023 brides aren’t gaining as many followers as contestants from other seasons

Whilst previous seasons have seen brides amass over 500,000 followers, the current brides haven’t reached the same level of fame.

So far, the bride who’s gained the most fans on the ‘gram is Claire Nomarhas. The 31-year-old grew her following from 2,800 to 68,000, which is a pretty impressive jump.

The second most successful bride is intruder Evelyn Ellis, who doubled her fan base from 65,000 to 124,000. Similarly, Melinda Willis, who was already an influencer, went from 150,000 to 204,000.

Bronte Schofield has gained around 50,000 followers, whilst surprisingly, fan favourite Tahnee Cook has only garnered around 40,000.

Some of the other brides have only gained as little as 10,000 followers. And whilst this might seem like a lot, it’s not even a drop in the ocean in comparison to last season’s Domenica Calarco and Ella Ding who gained over 500,000 followers each.

Only one MAFS bride has what it takes to become an influencer

According to Yahoo Lifestyle, Evelyn is the most “in demand” cast member.

“Evelyn has the broadest appeal and marketability,” an industry expert dished.

“She’s the dream ambassador for any fashion and beauty brand. She also has opinions that she isn’t afraid to voice in a respectful manner meaning any podcast will be an instant hit and girls just love her.”
