Gather your mates, place your bets and keep an eye on socials because a slew of reality stars are set to face off in a 2023 series of Team Ellis boxing matches.
Several fan faves from Love Island Australia, Married at First Sight and The Bachelor franchise are going up against each other on April 29 at Melbourne Pavilion.
The event is dubbed “Pretender to Contender”, and if past Team Ellis shindigs are anything to go by, it will be messy AF (here’s hoping!).
Pro boxers Mitch Leek and Tommy Fitzgerald, as well as AFLW star Tayla Harris, are the main event. However, we’re more interested in the ragtag crew of telly folk.
Serial reality star Al Perkins will go up against MAFS 2017‘s Jesse Konstantinoff. Meanwhile, 2022 groom Mitch Eynaud is set to fight Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles rugby star Delroy Berryman.
Keeping the pyramid scheme connections between MAFS and Love Island going strong, Jack Millar and Hugh Wilcox are also pegged to scuffle.
Finally, The Bachelorette/Bachelor in Paradise/Heartbreak Island beau Luca Fraraccio will joust with Love Island 2021‘s Benny Giobbi.
Team Ellis’ long history of reality TV boxing matches
For those as obsessed with reality TV as we are, you’d be aware that competing in a Team Ellis boxing match is a surefire sign that your star is fading.
As such, it’s no wonder that MAFS 2022‘s most controversial groom Daniel Holmes made a big f*king to-do about his event with the boxing club last year.
ICYMI: the lead-up to his October 2022 fight against Brent Vitiello was characterised by cringe AF promotions and a whole lotta d*ck-swinging on Instagram.
In the end, Daniel won the top gong. Meanwhile, the same event saw Jackson Lonie beat out fellow alum Sam Carraro with a knock-out punch.
However, it had nothing on Sam’s previous stint in the ring against Love Island‘s Todd Elton in 2021.
