Abbie Chatfield has been forced to respond to fans after they noticed an invasive question on the application for the FBOY Island Australia.

ICYMI: On December 15, the Masked Singer judge revealed her new gig as the host of online streaming service Binge’s first original reality dating series.

Following the announcement, Abbie has been encouraging fans to apply for the show by filling out the online application.

However, many were shocked to find that one of the questions asked applicants to reveal how many people they had slept with and whether they were male or female.

“Can I ask why the application process asks for body count?! I thought we got past this in 2022,” one user asked.

Abbie responded via comment, “I’m not sure the reasoning bc I don’t do the actual casting, but I remember I didn’t answer that part in my application for Bach so it’s not a requirement.

“I think it’s the same application form for all shows by the sounds of it.”

Abbie then returned to confirm that the application was a standard document that was used “for all WB shows (Bachelor, Bachelorette etc. etc.).”

“That is standard so it can’t be changed, as much as I would like it to be,” she said.

“I wish I had the power in the show to change it but I’m just the host. I can’t control production or casting forms/process, but totally agree with you.”

Among the other eyebrow-raising questions include whether applicants “use medication” or “regularly see a psychologist.”

Others noted we could be facing yet another show that lacked inclusivity as the application asked for contestants’ weight.

“Is this one of those shows that only cast conventionally ‘hot’ people like Love Island or is it open to literally everyone regardless of how hard their body is?” one user commented.

Another asked, “Are the female contestants able to be plus-size?”

Abbie responded, writing, “Yes of course! Everyone is welcome !! Apply!!!”

Interestingly, the form also features the weirdly-specific question that has us thinking producers watched Married At First Sight season nine.

“Do you have skeletons in your closet, e.g., jilted lovers, sex tapes, sexually explicit photos of you that have been distributed or disseminated without your permission?” one question asked.

What is FBOY Island Australia?

FBOY Island Australia is set to start airing on Binge in 2023. It follows three Aussie women on “their quest to find love” (jeez, where have we heard that one before).

It will star three women who will be introduced to 24 men after arriving on the titular FBOY Island.

They’ll then seek to uncover the “nice guys” and avoid the self-proclaimed “F-Boys” only there to win the cash prize.

Not even the viewers know who F-boys are (but we’re pretty sure we’ll notice the red flags fairly early on).

They have separate male and female applications. The latter calls for “empowered, confident, beautiful, and charismatic women who have it all, besides love”.

The male application is looking for men who are “unapologetic” and “ready to use charm and good looks to win love or money”.
