Channel Nine is spearheading a new real estate reality show focusing on Melbourne’s luxury real estate landscape.

The new show will follow top local property professionals and their rich AF clients, and according to the Herald Sun, filming for the pilot episode has already concluded.

However, producers have reportedly had more than a lil’ trouble with casting for future episodes.

The real estate gurus currently involved are reportedly a tad worried about being portrayed poorly and impacting their careers.

And TBH, this is a valid concern when other Nine shows (*cough* MAFS *cough* The Block *cough*) are notorious for burdening participants with the “villain” status.

This has since led to rumours that some of the cast have quit Nine’s new series, despite those involved having signed non-disclosure agreements.

The publication also alleged that the property agents involved were being paid just $1,000 per episode.

This fee is far removed from the hefty commissions that they can make from the sales of multimillion-dollar properties.

The series joins the increasingly popular genre dubbed “real estate porn”, which gives viewers an inside look at the luxury lifestyle of the rich and famous.

What Other Shows Have Put “Real Estate Porn” on the Map?

Nine’s new show rides on the successful coattails of Amazon Prime’s Luxe Listings Sydney, which has become a global hit, putting Sydney realty on the map.

Currently in its third season, the series is produced by shock jock Kyle Sandilands. It follows four top-flight estate agents who assist their clients in buying and selling property for eye-watering prices.

Meanwhile, Netflix’s Selling Sunset (and subsequent spin-offs) has hooked fans since its debut in 2019.

Alongside the real estate element, viewers have become increasingly attached to its stars and their personal lives — namely, Chrishell Stause, who is now dating Aussie musician G Flip.
