Married at First Sight Australia 2022 alum Domenica Calarco‘s web series Dom’s Debrief has caused a F*CK ton of drama since it was announced and now it has been revealed her pay was 1000 per cent not worth the hassle!

ICYMI – The MAFS 2022 cast (and Abbie Chatfield, for some reason) launched a media frenzy in late October as they reacted to the fan fave TV bride being announced as the host of the online series Dom’s Debrief.

There were legal threats and jealousy accusations aplenty, with the cast majorly shading each other back and forth on their Insta pages. Somebody learn how to DM. We’re begging!

As reported in episode 226 of the So Dramatic! podcast, it turns out that there wasn’t much to be jealous of – that is, if money is your main MO!

An industry spy told host Megan Pustetto that Domenica wasn’t actually paid anything for her headlining spot in the series. Like, at all.

“Dom was not paid for series,” the insider dished. “They weren’t offering any money to her.”

Our source added: “Channel Nine pitched it as a great opportunity that could potentially lead to more TV work within the network. They are of the belief that they made Domenica the big star she is, so they, therefore, don’t have to pay her.

“Channel Nine knew if Dom said no, that someone else would snap the opportunity up.”

That’s right; Nine pulled some major “paid in exposure” energy out when casting Domenica for the seemingly coveted role. Yikes!

Why Did MAFSDomenica Calarco Agree to Not Being Paid for Dom’s Debrief?

The source suggested Domenica agreed to the dodgy AF contract to gain more media presence and perhaps say a big ‘f*ck you’ to her feuding cast members. Fair enough, we guess…

“Dom agreed to do it for free because she wanted the prestige that it came with,” they said.

The insider believed it was an “honour to be chosen to do it and great exposure for her”.

With her legal letter probs in the mail RN (thanks to a slew of public accusations of the abuse), we’re not sure she’d still agree.

Our source also claimed that Martha Kalifatidis agreed to do her interview series for just $5,000 for the same reason… but at least she got paid!
