The Block Australia 2022 has come under fire yet again on Twitter for not respecting Omar Slaimankhel and Ozman “Oz” Malik‘s religious restrictions by serving red wine.

Earlier in the Tree Change season, the boys couldn’t participate in a wine-tasting challenge since drinking alcohol is strictly haraam (forbidden) in Muslim culture.

During the September 26 episode (amid ongoing “dodgy” accusations), fans took to Twitter to air their complaints.

Many quickly pointed out that the “winners and grinners” dinner wasn’t inclusive for Omar and Oz because wine was used as the main ingredient.

How Were The Block’s Omar and Oz Excluded from the Winners and Grinners’ Dinner?

During the dinner, The Block’s Rachel and Ryan Carr cooked, offering contestants scotch filet with roast vegetables and a red wine jus – and no, we promise this isn’t My Kitchen Rules.

Of course, due to the alcohol content, Omar and Oz were likely unable to eat the sauce.

Fans questioned why Rachel and Ryan couldn’t have just made a normal gravy, with some believing the winery sponsorship had struck again.

To make matters worse, Tom Calleja and Sarah-Jane Wilson used the dinner to call for a “financial audit“. Omar and Oz thought it targeted them after their baby grand piano debacle.

Others argued the drama wasn’t as problematic as the first wine-gate, replying to the Twitter thread to point out that anybody can flag their own dietary needs.

How about we just stick to sponsorships with non-alcoholic bevvies next season and save everybody a lot of trouble?
