Married at First Sight Australia 2022’s Daniel Holmes unveiled his latest jab at Brent Vitiello — a very on-the-nose poster ahead of their October boxing match.
The two MAFS grooms will take their TV feud to the boxing ring on October 15 at Melbourne Pavilion. And now, Daniel is giving fans a (poor) taste of what’s to come at the impending Team Ellis Boxing event.
On his Instagram Story on September 6, the 30-year-old shared a “death” notice that included a black and white photo of his opponent.
“Celebrating the life of Brent Vitiello,” the poster, adorned with funeral-style wreaths, read. “20.01.1988 to 15.10.2022.” Charming.
On top of the post, Daniel wrote: “New @teamellisboxing poster just dropped”.
The event will see several other reality titans go head-to-head in the ring.
MAFS 2022’s Jackson Lonie will face off against 2021 groom Sam Carraro. Meanwhile, The Bachelorette’s Ali Oetjen will verse SAS Australia’s, Jessica Peris.
Married at First Sight Fans Attempted to Get Daniel Holmes’ Post Removed
Given the distasteful nature of Daniel’s post, several MAFS fans reported the Story to Instagram in an attempt to get it removed.
“I find that so offensive,” one viewer wrote about the post on Facebook.
“I just reported it,” another penned.
Meanwhile, one disgusted fan mused: “Imagine joking about someone dying — another nail in the coffin that Daniel and that MAFS core group are troubled and searching for attention anywhere and everywhere.”
On September 7, one So Dramatic! listener took to the Communi-TEA Facebook group to share that Instagram would not be removing Daniel’s post.
“Are they serious?” she wrote alongside a screenshot of the reviewed post.
“We didn’t remove _danielholmes_’s story,” the review read before asserting that the “review team” hadn’t viewed the post.
“However, our technology has found that this story likely doesn’t go against our Community Guidelines.”
The latest promo of Daniel’s fight follows a big f*ck-off billboard he organised to drive around Sydney in June.
Chatting to So Dramatic! at the time, the TV groom said it was a rouse orchestrated to ruffle Brent’s feathers.
“I’ll make Mister Classy break character,” Daniel said. “I organised it!” Lol!
The duo’s fiery feud came to fruition during the ninth season of the marriage experiment when Brent took issue with Daniel striking up a relationship with Carolina Santos — Dion Giannarelli’s expert-appointed bride.
The stoush then reached boiling point when the reality stars went to war over the decision to donate money from the boxing match to charity.
