The 30-year-old revealed that he “abused” steroids from the age of 23 until applying for Married at First Sight in 2021.

“It was an addiction that I didn’t want to admit but the reality is I never really came off them in that 7-8 year window,” he wrote.

Daniel then said he has been clean of the substance for eight months, with the support of his girlfriend and MAFS co-star, Carolina Santos.

“I can look back and realise how much it affected my life,” he said. “There’s side effects that I’m still dealing with after the years of f*cking my hormones.”

He attributed his drug use to an “obsession with being the best”, which resulted in him taking steroids during his professional bodybuilding career.

Daniel went on to tell his followers that he’s “always wanted to take boxing more seriously”.

However, despite dabbling in boxing and Muay Thai, he was unable to commit to it due to being “a big juice head”.

“I’m in a position now where I can really focus on it,” Daniel confessed. “My body feels better natural and I’m very motivated.”

The TV groom added that he and his coach are now working “very closely” to focus his “competitive [and] obsessive behaviour in the right direction”.

“I’m so proud of you,” she penned. “Keep killing it.”

Jackson Lonie also threw out words of encouragement, telling his co-star to “keep going”.

“Good work big fella keep working.”
