Former Neighbours star Sharon Johal has been inundated with trolls on social media after receiving the “villain edit” on The Block 2022, and she’s not happy, Jan.

The actress-turned-Blockhead has since gone rogue on Tiktok, Instagram and Twitter after previously hitting back at “mean-spirited” tweets.

Now, she’s shared her perspective on how her edit is panning out.

What The Block Controversies Have Made Sharon Johal Look Like This Year’s “Villain”?

Since The Block started airing in early August, Sharon and her husband Ankur Dogra have been thrown into the reality TV deep end with numerous controversies.

They were first hit with an onslaught of hate from online trolls after receiving judge Shaynna Blaze‘s brutal critiques.

During the August 29 episode of The Block, Sharon got into a bitter feud with their lead builder Liam, which seemingly pitted the soap star against all of Australia’s tradie population.

And most recently, the couple’s integrity was questioned during the August 30 episode after they searched for the “recipe” for Samantha’s Paddock wines and won $50,000 in the wine-making challenge.

The Block 2022’s Sharon Johal Takes To Social Media To Hit Back at Her Villain Edit and Subsequent Trolling

TBH, we’re kind of living for the shady comments and posts that Sharon has been making across her social media platforms.

Twitter

Sharon has become quite the Twitter connoisseur, taking to the social media platform after each episode of The Block to retweet positive reactions from fans and hit back at trolls.

On August 16, Sharon targeted specific Twitter users who tweeted numerous hate comments. She even called them out on her public account (which boasts nearly 5,000 followers).

Sharon reminded viewers she was a “real person” who reads “the mean-spirited things you say”.

These days, Sharon is still retweeting fans’ supportive comments, but she hasn’t continued to reply to trolls on Twitter. She retweeted our story on her Twitter beef, so she might have learned to keep mum. Whoops!

TikTok

Sharon took to TikTok to address her “villain edit” on August 30, and she didn’t hold back!

She claimed the feud with Liam was “exaggerated”, and the showrunners created drama out of “lack of context”.

“If you don’t see lips moving, 101 it didn’t happen that way, ya heard [sic],” Sharon said. Hmmmm.

Exaggerated drama. Lack of context. Edits. If you don’t see lips moving, 101 it didn’t happen that way, ya heard

Now with a little more context, we reckon her TikTok the day before also had some shady undertones.

Sharon used the audio “oh sh*t, here we go again” and captioned the post “not fun”. She added the hashtags #ikyk [I know you know] and #itsaboutthattime.

But we’re not reading into this, we swear! A week earlier, Sharon addressed the question “is ‘reality’ TV real?” with the audio “B-F-F-R. Be f*cking for real”.

Sharon explained in the caption: “Audio not matching visual is a dead giveaway… Oh, and edited convos!”

She also previously joked about avoiding “controversial” interview questions while on breakfast talk shows and showed their reaction to “when the insults just keep on coming”.

“We GET IT. You hate the room! No need to go so hard #thatshitcray #renovation #building #rookies #doingourbest.”

Instagram

The Blockhead has been a little more subtle on Instagram but our shade senses tingled when reading through her shared account with Ankur.

During the August 29 episode, “Liam the builder” texted Sharon and Ankur at 3:30 am to “voice his frustration”. He explained the tradies deserved a “thank you” for “the hard work everyone does”.

The couple cheekily thanked “everybody involved” on their Instagram post about the win (posted long after the drama occurred IRL).

After their recipe-Googling scandal, Ankur and Sharon captioned their Insta post: “Big kisses for the smart win. Hubby nailed it!”

They also directly addressed the drama, reminding viewers there were “absolutely no rules that we cannot use our phones or search the net/google anything”.

They even used the hashtags “#smartmove #notcheating #somuchdrama”. LMAO!

Other classic captions include “if you don’t laugh, you cry” and “We love us [some] Dan, but not sure about the art advice… we will take on any building advice tho?”.

But our personal fave was “No sleep for the wicked. Plan, research, work, rinse, repeat”.

Unsurprisingly, the couple has turned off their comments on Instagram.

So Dramatic! has reached out to Sharon for comment.
