Bri Auty thought she had a picture-perfect life – but after experiencing a personal tragedy, the former NRL cheerleader decided to make her own path, starting with appearing on Beauty and the Geek.

While she loves makeup, lashes, tanning and fashion, Bri also believes that beauty is “not what’s on the outside that counts, it’s what’s on the inside”.

“I believe you have to be beautiful on the inside to be a true beauty,” she told 9Now, adding: “There’s deeper layers to girls who look like beauties.”

While Bri always aimed to remain “humble and kind”, the 30-year-old believed she could be the “complete package” for someone special.

Beauty Bri Auty’s Goal on BATG is to Give Her Geek Chris Mattiske Some Newfound Confidence

Bri prides herself on being able to get along with anybody, so she hopes to instil some of that confidence onto her Geek Chrisopher Mattiske and help him “come out of his shell“.

“I would teach him to always look at the bright side of things. It’s either in your life for a reason or a season. I like people who remain humble and kind, no matter what,” she said.

Bri also wanted to learn a lot from Christopher on Beauty and the Geek, including how she should be treated.

“I always go for the typical footy, muscly guys. Tall, dark and handsome. I want a different guy, pretty much,” she explained.

While we haven’t seen any romantic sparks between Bri and Christopher, he does seem to tick many of her (new) boxes.

Bri said she was looking for someone who had “patience” and was “honest”. But most of all, she wanted somebody willing to work on themselves and their relationship “even when it gets tough”.

Beauty and the Geek‘s Bri Auty Shared Her Most “Heartbreaking” Experience

During the July 26 episode, Bri confessed that needed to “let go of negative energy” in a healing circle with the other Beauties.

“A lot has happened to me, especially in the last 12 months,” she said, explaining that her past long-term relationship left her with a litany of trust issues.

“I had the life where I was getting the house, maybe [getting] married or engaged,” she said. “I lived and breathed this person and that went left very quickly.”

Bri then revealed that she fell pregnant in the “last stages” of that relationship. However, it sadly resulted in a miscarriage.

On Instagram, Bri explained why she decided to open up about her experience: “Miscarriages are often not spoken about enough and I wanted to inspire somebody even if it was one person with my story that could relate to me in ways.”

Commenting on the post, Christopher said her courage and honesty was “nothing short of incredible”.

“I’m certain your story resonates with so many people. Your immense strength is inspiring and I’m so privileged to be alongside you throughout this experience,” he said.
