Beauty and the Geek Australia 2022’s Christopher “Chris” Mattiske is an actual Yu-Gi-Oh! champion. And if you’re wondering WTAF that is, let us explain.

YuGiOh is a Japanese manga series that was turned into a card game played with Monsters, Spells, and Traps.

In June 2013, the 30-year-old BATG star placed first at the World Championship Qualifier (WCQ) Oceanic Championship and second in the Youth Championship in Sydney.

Besides being SUPER good at the card game, Chris has also been all over the world for tournaments, including a cheeky trip to Las Vegas!

Why Did Christopher Mattiske Apply for Beauty and the Geek Australia 2022?

Being successful in Yu-Gi-Oh! (and working as a software engineer) has meant that Chris has missed out on a lot of socialising and is now ready to make up for the lost time.

“I’ve spent most of my time hanging around people who share my interests. So I don’t tend to add a lot to conversations around things I’m not specifically interested in,” Chris said in his official bio.

“So I’d like to learn more about how to interact with everyone, not just the people I know who share my interests.”

As for his fashion sense, Chris had admitted he’d like some help from his beauty. Did someone say ~mAkeOveR~!

“I basically have no style, no fashion sense at all.” Lol, love him!
