Beauty and the Geek‘s Sophie Monk is known for her cheeky humour, but nobody expected her or the wholesome show to roast Married at First Sight Australia!

Introducing the jousting challenge during the July 26 episode, the Beauty and the Geek editing team went to town on flawlessly recreating the Game of Thrones intro.

“Tonight, we are entering the world of the most popular TV show in history,” Sophie said in a voiceover.

Hilariously, the sequence cut to the iconic title screen for Married at First Sight Australia, complete with the bell sound.

“No, no! We’re talking about the dark ages,” Sophie amended.

Rubbing salt in (their own) wound, Nine’s controversial dating experiment made another appearance as the title sequence popped up again upon mention of the “dark ages”. LOL.

“No,” Sophie corrected, explaining that she was “talking about the middle ages”, before introducing BATG’s medieval-themed challenge.

Both Married at First Sight Australia and Beauty and the Geek air on Channel Nine, but we’re still surprised the higher-ups sighed off on that savage burn.

BATG has been widely celebrated by fans as being “wholesome” and “heartwarming”.

Uhm, we don’t think anybody has used that vocab to describe the drama-filled MAFS...
