The Block 2024‘s Kristian and Mimi Belperio have already made headlines for their tense on-screen arguments, but are they still together IRL?
From Paige Beechey and Jesse Maguire cancelling their wedding to Kylie and Brad Baker breaking up (then getting back together), the current season of the hit renovation show has been cursed by heartbreak.
When faced with the many tasks of “Hellway Week,” Kristian and Mimi, who tied the knot in November 2023, hit a bit of a speed bump. It came after Mimi called Kristian “embarrassing” for crying and breaking down.
“It was really tough,” Mimi told TV WEEK whilst describing the stress she endured on The Block. “It’s the ultimate marriage test. Don’t do it.”
But have they managed to make things work?
The Block’s Mimi Belperio is at the centre of a CHEATING scandal with Brad Baker
As revealed by So Dramatic! Mimi was also at the centre of a cheating scandal with married co-star Brad during a drunken cast night out. It led to his wife, Kylie, QUITTING the show.
One insider explained that Brad and Mimi “didn’t hook up”, but they did something that “crossed a line” in Kylie’s eyes.
“Towards the end of the season, the cast were having drinks, lots of drinks actually,” the insider recalled.
“Kylie walked in on Brad in a compromising position with Mimi. They weren’t doing anything physical. They were flirting and being a little too friendly. But the fact everyone was drunk didn’t help the situation.”
According to the source, Mimi’s hubby Kristian Belperio “didn’t have an issue” with her involvement in the “cheating scandal” because she “didn’t do anything wrong”.
However, he was “angry” at Brad for “making a move on his wife”. And we don’t blame him!
“It was Brad flirting with her and making a move. It wasn’t reciprocated from her end,” they spilled.
Are The Block‘s Mimi and Kristian still together?
Speaking to Woman’s Day, the duo admitted that the renovation series tested their marriage.
“Even if you went on with your mum, who you’ve known your whole life, there are always going to be elements of the show that make everything so hard,” Mimi justified.
“The show threw in a few tests for us,” Kristian added. “But I think if you can get through that, you can get through anything.”
The pair also told Yahoo Lifestyle that their relationship went from strength to strength, thanks to the show.
“We came out of it stronger but needed to come out of it to have perspective. Because when you’re in it, you’re not in the real world.”
So it sounds like Mimi and Kristian aren’t one of the couples tipped to break up before the auctions…
