*Trigger Warning: This article discusses mental health and abusive relationships.*

During the September 9 episode, the controversial couple announced they were leaving the show due to mental health struggles.
Host Scott Cam backed their decision, stressing there was “nothing more important” than mental health.
However, fans had a lot to say about how the duo’s relationship and exit were portrayed. Many pointed out how problematic the team really were, with some even labelling their relationship as “domestic and emotional abuse”.
Fans praise Channel Nine for prioritising The Block’s Jesse & Paige’s mental health
Meanwhile, Facebook users shared a different opinion, praising Channel Nine for prioritising Jesse and Paige’s mental health.
One disgruntled viewer thought it was “disgusting” and “disrespectful” for the show to air the couple’s “mental health”.
However, another disagreed, stating that “it’s about time” these matters were spoken about publicly.

“How many seasons have we seen where couples were verbally abusive to each other, but it’s been made into ‘light entertainment’? It’s about time Channel Nine did something real about this,” they wrote.
Another claimed that Married at First Sight, a show notorious for ruining the cast’s mental health, should follow suit.
“MAFS producers, did you see what The Block did? They let a couple leave due to mental health. No stay an extra week, bullsh*t,” they penned.
