Olivia Frazer has admitted her time on Married at First Sight Australia 2022 left her feeling “devoured” and “suicidal” during a recent podcast documenting reality TV villains.

To put it lightly, Olivia had a rough go of it following her appearance in the ninth season of the marriage experiment, after the show depicted her as the “villain” to Domenica Calarco‘s portrayal as a fan fave.

In the years since, she’s been the subject of horrific trolling and, at times, personal attacks at her home, which she discussed in an in-depth episode of the ABC podcast, Background Briefing.

Olivia, who was matched with now-ex Jackson Lonie on the show, told ABC that she was “definitely suicidal” following MAFS.

“They made me look like a criminal on the biggest show in Australia. And I didn’t sign up to be framed as a criminal,” she said.

“I was definitely suicidal, and it was completely undermined and not taken seriously… They just let you be devoured.”

Olivia Frazer describes Married at First Sight 2022 cast as ‘inmates’ during COVID-19 filming

With MAFS 2022 filmed at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2021, protection measures prevented participants from interacting with those outside the experiment.

As such, it’s no surprise they went “stir-crazy”.

“We were basically inmates,” Olivia told ABC.

As such, when they got to the weekly dinner parties, tensions were at breaking point, especially with the alcohol provided.

While many MAFS alumni have reported there are restrictions on how much they can drink, Olivia claimed these were lifted towards the end of the experiment.

And that’s when the things went “tits up”.

“One dinner party, we were all having such a lovely time… to the point where [a program maker] had to come out and be like, ‘Right, you guys need to start drama or we’re going to be here all night,'” Olivia recalled.

“Australia’s not tuning in to watch a tea party.”

Olivia Frazer recalls the infamous Married at First Sight 2022 nude photo scandal

Cementing Olivia’s position as a MAFS “villain” was the now-infamous nude photo scandal.

The incident portrayed Olivia as having maliciously circulated an intimate image of Domenica, seemingly taken from her OnlyFans account, with the MAFS cast — something the 30-year-old has vehemently denied since.

In Background Briefing, she maintained that she only used the image — which she claims was an image her friends had found on Domenica’s public Twitter profile — to question why her co-star was allowed to use social media during filming when it was contractually forbidden.

As soon as the incident played out at a MAFS dinner party, Olivia knew she had “ruined her life”.

Domenica also commented on the incident in Background Briefing from her mental health facility, telling ABC that the fact the racy image was on her public social media page is irrelevant.

“I couldn’t care less where she got it, it’s what she then went to do with that photo — to turn people against me, shame me, all those things,” she said.

“Revenge porn … doesn’t have to be someone’s photo that was given privately; it can be done in a different way.”

Olivia Frazer hits out at Domenica Calarco for ‘putting words in [her] mouth’

Taking to her Instagram Story following her episode of Background Briefing, Olivia seemingly criticised Domenica for making “assumptions” about the scandal.

“There’s a mention [in the podcast] from a former cast mate of my ‘intentions’ re: the photo scandal,” she penned on June 23.

“I just want to make a few points clear. It’s impossible to tell what someone’s intentions are. But mine were never malicious — as I’ve said over and over again. And to suggest otherwise is pure assumption and putting words in my mouth.”

Olivia added that if she had “malicious intent”, she “would have been the one to bring it up on camera”.

“I would have said nasty things about it, I didn’t,” she said. “I would just like to be able to speak freely for the first time in years without my words being chopped, context changed, or words forced down my throat.”

She concluded her Story by thanking the ABC for their “well-produced, researched and completely fair” podcast.

“I’m so happy I did this interview and couldn’t appreciate the platform more.”
