The Block 2024‘s Jesse Maguire and Paige Beechey‘s builder has revealed what the controversial couple were really like in real life.
Thanks to Paige’s explosive behaviour, the Perth-based duo have cemented themselves as this season’s “villains” and copped a hefty serving of backlash online.
Sources have told So Dramatic! that the pair were just as bad in real life as they were on our screens. However, their builder, Zak Sydenham, told Yahoo Lifestyle he had a “great working relationship” with the couple.

“When we were all on-site, we’d be cracking jokes and laughing. There was a lot of light-hearted fun, which helped bring a bit of normality to the site,” he recalled.
The carpenter also said Jesse and Paige’s edit has been a “real eye-opener”.
“They definitely had their moments, as did every couple, but it was never as bad as it’s being portrayed,” he claimed.
“What has been shown has happened, but there’s a whole lot that hasn’t been shown that makes it seem like their reactions and comments are way out of line.” Interesting…
How did other cast members from The Block find Jesse and Paige?
As revealed in episode 414 of the So Dramatic! podcast, Paige and Jesse’s carpenter also had a positive experience with them, and they’re “still on good terms”.
“He said Paige was lovely and rang her to see if she was OK after seeing the edit,” a friend of the carpenter told So Dramatic!.
It comes after co-stars Ricky Recard and Haydn Wise defended Jesse and Paige, stating they’re “great people” who don’t deserve the backlash they’ve received.
