The Block 2024‘s Ricky Recard‘s ex-girlfriend has confessed she was “blindsided” when he dumped her, only to start dating a makeup artist from the show.
The plumber’s ex, Lauren Smith, spilled the tea to Daily Mail Australia, claiming she spent three months minding the contestant’s dog and house while he filmed the landmark 20th season of the hit reno show.
As such, she was shaking when Ricky, who was competing with his best mate, Haydn Wise, ended the relationship.
“I was absolutely blindsided,” she told the outlet, revealing they had already booked to go on a holiday to Mexico for her 30th birthday once The Block wrapped.
“We were due to go at the beginning of July for my 30th birthday, but we broke up about two weeks after he got back from filming,” she said.
As such, she travelled to the tourist hotspot without her newly minted reality TV beau.
While Lauren was in Mexico, she learned that the 34-year-old had allegedly entered a relationship with a woman named Erin Lee.

While Daily Mail claimed Erin left her husband to be with Ricky, her estranged husband Lucas Day denied this was the case, coming to the party with a slightly different story.
“We are separated now, and I’ve dealt with it,” he said, clarifying that Erin and Ricky only started seeing each other after the marriage ended.
“They got together after we split when he got back from Mexico in July, and we were done then.”
But didn’t Lauren go to Mexico without Ricky?! Hmm…

In a recent interview with New Idea, Ricky confirmed he had a new lady in his life but did not reveal who she was.
He also claimed she was unaware of his stint on The Block, despite her working on the show… Which seems suss?
“I can definitely say she was impressed, and why wouldn’t she be?” he said. “The reason why she was impressed was not because I’m on The Block. She thinks it’s pretty funny.
“She didn’t know I was on The Block when we started seeing each other.”
Very weird…
His comments came before both Erin and Ricky hard-launched their relationships on Instagram page, per Daily Mail.
“Beach time with this stunner,” Ricky captioned a private post of the pair holidaying in Port Douglas.
Meanwhile, Erin, 40, posted on her page on August 29: “Sometimes the path we never planned leads us to brighter things and the happiness we always needed.
“Trust the journey.”
While we aren’t 100 per cent sure which conflicting narrative is to be believed, it seems Ricky and the mum-of-two are pretty smitten!
Now, we wonder if Ricky and Haydn can back this newfound bliss by winning The Block 2024…
