Married at First Sight Australia 2023‘s Melinda Willis has given fans a relationship update with Layton Mills following their shock split.

Despite being the ultimate power duo, fans were shooketh when the couple announced their breakup in October.

During a recent Instagram Q&A, the beauty CEO sadly confirmed that she’s no longer in contact with her former TV hubby.

“We don’t currently talk, no,” she told her followers. “Things didn’t get left on the best terms. From my side, it was best to stop contact.”

She then admitted that her breakup with the biotech CEO was still “hard to talk about”, and she still felt very protective of him.

“I believe that we went through enough to still be amicable if we ran into each other if we needed something from each other,” she continued.

“I still like to protect him when I see something online. I will still go at a troll if I need to protect him.

“But in regards to actually talking to each other, we don’t. When we broke up, I stopped contact, and that was just for me and my mental [health] because everything was just all a bit too much.”

When asked if she’d ever give things another go with the former groom, Melinda says she remains open-minded.

“You don’t know what could happen in the future, and some days I’ll catch myself thinking about Layton or thinking about if time will change anything,” the 34-year-old dished. Our hearts!

“But again, I haven’t heard from Layton, so I don’t think anything’s happening right now. Sorry to break it to you guys.”

The reality star also told her followers she’s “very single”.

“Since doing MAFS, I know what I want, and I learnt a lot, and I’m not going to settle,” she finished.
