Phillip Island locals have slammed The Block after filming for the 2024 season caused “traffic chaos” for residents.

This year, the hit renovation show is being filmed on Victoria’s Phillip Island, a serene holiday spot known for its relaxing nature.

However, residents surrounding the filming location have told Daily Mail Australia that the trucks transporting The Block‘s building materials have been causing major “traffic chaos” along Justice Road, Cowes.

They added that cars can be queued up for up to three hours because there’s only one way to leave and enter the property where the show‘s being filmed.

“There’s no justice along this road,” one local wittily told the outlet, whilst another admitted: “It’s been chaos along here for months. We can’t wait ’til they rack off.”

A third agreed, claiming, “It’s not ideal, but what can you do? We can’t wait to see their backs.”

Phillip Island residents claim The Block filming poses a DANGER to the roads

Locals also told the outlet that the traffic controllers on the construction site “aren’t doing their jobs properly,” causing danger to the roads.

“I’ve almost had two head-on crashes,” one person said, whilst another admitted: “I don’t want to cause trouble, but I don’t want to have an accident either.”

This comes as residents blasted an “inconsiderate” letter from executive producer Julian Cress amid filming disruptions in their neighbourhood. Sounds like it’s going to be a dramatic season!
